The beach is gorgeous and the sea is spotlessly clear and great for swimming. Its not that near the industri complex - a 15/20min drive. The beach is ruined by how many Chinese tourists are shipped in every day. From around 10am-5pm, the atmosphere changes a lot -- there were around 15 of us in the hotel, then over 100 Chinese families descended. Loud pop is played on the side of the beach that the daytrippers are dropped at, and they spit/litter/shout. It's a shame hotel staff do not enforce the rules -- you can't project a "secluded relaxing beach" brand and keep up the daytrippers. ||||We were told that diving was only available for Chinese people - but having then negotiated to go snorkelling by ourselves (free) where they take the divers, it transpires that "diving" means "instructor holds you in the water for 20 mins whilst you wear the kit". The coral is mostly dead and there's a fair bit of litter, but there are still some lovely fish there. We asked about the famous Whale Island for snorkelling but were given a flat-out "no" and no offer of help finding an organisation that could take us there.||||The hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The majority of staff do not speak enough English to do their job for foreign guests -- ordering drinks, checking out etc was a struggle and staff would use translation apps, point or call friends to translate for us.||||We didn't have hot water at all across the entire week, and there was only WiFi for two days. Our toilet flush broke early in our stay, so we had to put our hand in the basin and manually pull up the flap. ||||The restaurant is overpriced (more expensive than where we ate in cities) and the menu is missing a lot of famous Vietnamese dishes, which is a shame. There aren't many lunch options (it's a chicken/tuna baguette with a few chips or noodle soup) and the resort has absolutely no snacks - no crisps, ice cream, nuts, etc. Most cocktails were unavailable, and no "big" bottles of water (just the more expensive 500ml ones).||||The service was poor although the place is massively overstaffed. One lunchtime we had to wake up staff who were layed across chairs sleeping. Another day, a waitress clipped her nails on the floor whilst we ate. Most days, staff would watch TV on their phones (no headphones) whilst we ate. I wouldn't mind if we were paying local prices, but prices are more western plus a non-optional 10% service.||||You can hire a scooter for 70k/hour or 150/day. We hired it for 3 hours to go to another restaurant for dinner but the receptionist tried to charge us 270k instead of the daily rate. We called her out and she adjusted the sum. ||||The hotel could be easily improved with a few steps. For the moment, there's not really any choice to...
Read moreI wouldn't recommend this hotel. Although the location is interesting and resort has a lovely beach - there were too many problems to fully enjoy our stay. ||||Staff hardly speaks any english and there are no services available. There were also problems with hot water (shower had none), airconditioning and electricity. Stayed Wild Beach for 2 nights and in the first evening we had 3 power cuts. Staff totally ingnored the cuts and did nothing to make it more okay: restaurant had some backup lights but they didn't give us any (we asked, 'cause showering in the total darkness was bit of a challenge :). We managed with our flashlight apps.||||Hotel description promised a lot of things from spa treatments and sauna to 24-hour room service but lacked even the most basic ones: there were no safety box, no slippers or robes, no pool towels, and no room service of anykind. The room didn't even have a phone to call the reception. There is no market or even a vending machine on the premises to buy snacks, fruits or drinks so after the restaurant closes (early:10 pm) there is nothing available. We asked about the 24/7 room service and the staff told us it means the minibar. Minibar included couple bottles of water, beer, coke and chips. Bathroom had free toiletries though and the open air bathroom was kind of cool. ||||Early in the morning when there is only the resort guests the beach is nice and calm and you can enjoy the view while eating breakfast. During the daytime beach is crowded with daytrippers - lots and lots of asian tourists taking selfies. There is no private beach area for resort guests. ||||There were no bikes or scooters to hire and taxi is expensive so moving around is difficult. We paid 600k for a tour to see near attractions and that was almost a complete waste of money. We drove to see a fisherman's village and a saltfield. Villages were authentic and people were very interesred of us, whole lot of hellos and group pictures. There were no other tourists. It was nice to see how the locals live. The saltfield had nothing to see but I'm not sure if December was just a bad time to visit (just mud and plastic covers). ||||Despite the problems we spent a nice Christmas there with friends. Although it has to be said that without a good sense of humour and an attitude that a reallyreally lousy service is actually an experience too the result might be different. Staff seems absolutely uninterested in anykind of customer service. ||||If you are interested in the area, you should check the neughbor resort Jungle Beach. Resort was under construction but staff spoke good english and was very helpfull and...
Read moreStayed here for a week in low season. It is about 7-8km from Doc Let and over an hour from Nha Trang so fairly remote but we wanted peace and quiet so the location was ideal. The Hyundai port is not visible from the resort and the water is very clear.||Ocean view room was rustic, spacious, clean and had a great view of the sea and surrounding islands so delivered on this front. Shower was pretty tepid - not the worst thing in a place which is hot all day and all night - but would have liked the hot option. Toilet had a botch job done on the stopcock so had to get that fixed multiple times which was annoying. Electricity to whole room switched off when you took the card key out which was a bit of a design fault (e.g. fridge switching off). Wifi was very poor and hardly worked the whole week.||Restaurant is not expensive by western standards but compared to the surrounds it is up to 3x the normal price, which does make it relatively expensive. A lot of the food is tasty - especially the breakfast, the locally-caught fish and the bbq options - but the pho and banh mi are fairly average.||The beach is clean and white sand but the invasion of bus-loads of Chinese tourists kills the peace and quiet during most of the day. The regular horrendous karaoke was also very annoying. There are a range of activities you can do through the resort - snorkelling, diving, kayaking, banana boats, etc. - with some of them being charged for/not charged for fairly irregularly. We tried the kayaking but gave up as one of the paddles provided was broken and the currents are quite strong. The snorkelling was good but a lot of the coral has been irreparably damaged and we were not offered the option of trying some other well-known spots (e.g. Whale Island).||Biggest disappointment was the quality of the service. The staff hardly spoke any English (or even Chinese) and so communicating was a daily struggle. They frequently ran out of supplies - bottles of water, options on the food/drink menu. We found it very hard to rent a scooter as they either said it was unavailable or tried to upsell us taxis instead. When we did rent one they overcharged us quite considerably and we had to walk them back on this. Seeing staff asleep on the job was quite shocking and most of the time it was a bit like a social club for the staff members and the guests get ignored.||Overall, whilst it was fairly inexpensive I would not recommend this resort in its...
