If you're looking for an eco friendly homestay within the Mekong Delta area, then you would be pleasantly surprised when visiting Mai homestay.
The hosts, a husband and wife team, are welcoming and friendly. They want you to have a wonderful experience from their homestay as a reflection of not just their accommodation but of their country as well.
The bedrooms are spacious with generous size beds and a variety of sizes. There are 4 rooms available with a variety of beds in each room. There are power points, mosquito nets, a sheet, pillow and towel for each person in each room.
There is a communal fridge that is stocked with drinks where you write down on a sheet what you took and can pay for when leaving.
You can have dinner, lunch and breakfast as there are many areas for meals in huts located beside the river. The meals are home cooked, healthy and delicious. The host will have a drink with you during dinner.
There is a toilet and shower block located nearby. Toilet paper and hose is available.

Read moreThe place is located near the river so it has beautiful views. But it’s far from the city center and it’s difficult to find because you can go by walk or by bike, but the car can reach the home stay. As the place is near the river they let you use some kayaks to swim in the river. And as it is far from the city center they also let you take some bikes to walk around. Mai can speak English but the rest of the stuff can not, so make sure you have all your questions when she is there. The food is quite nice, but very expensive. You can not it near by if it’s not the home stay. The rooms and bathrooms are dirty but because it’s near the river and in the middle of the jungle it’s difficult to keep everything clean and there are lots of mosquitos, but don’t worry they let you a mosquito net. After all, I recommend this homestay and the tour they offer around the place with a boat...
Read moreAbsolute wonderful stay with a wonderful hostess. Mai met us in Sapa town and then we trekked to her home which is among the terraced rice paddys. Her home overlooks Sapa valley and at night you can touch the Milky Way. Mai prepared us an extensive dinner of 5 courses with rice wine and banana pancakes for breakfast. In the evening she showed us how to batik and we made beautiful wall hangings. On Day 2 she led us on a hike through the bamboo forest and past the waterfall to the other side of the valley. And, Mai is so sweet. This is arguably the main reason you should stay with her and her family. If you like diving into culture coupled with easy to moderate hiking, Mai's...
