Homestay Minh Hà — Hotel in Xã Tam Thanh

I do not stay in homestays, as i find them either not clean, no service or not well designed. If i travel, i prefer staying in places that looks and feels better than my own house. However for this trip to Phu Quy, there was no choice since it is still an undeveloped island with no hotels or resorts. So it was really fortunate that my group has managed to book this homestay. They only opened early this month and the rooms still look new and clean. The design was simple with some nice fish motifs in the rooms. They have a balcony where you can see a partial view of the ocean, it is a good place to chill. They also have a small courtyard, where you can request to do a bbq dinner from the host. Location is in the town, just 5 mins from the market, harbour and food area. The popular beach area and other attractions are further northeast but just a 10 min bike ride away. It is a small island. The star of this homestay would be our young host couple Mr Thai and his lovely wife and son. They provided the most personal and heartfelt service i have ever experienced from any luxury resorts i have stayed. They helped us with transportation, bike rental, recommended and bringing us to good streetfood and restaurants, was always around the homestay with a smile and asking us if we needed anything and how we felt and how they can improve. We could tell they put alot of heart in their homestay and did their best for all their guests. One night when my wife got a splinter in one of her foot from swimming among the corals, we asked for tweezers from Mr Thai, but he did not have any in the homestay. He called his wife who was back home and within 10 minutes she arrived with a needle and soothing cream to help my wife remove the splinter. They also helped me with booking a cake and giving a surprise birthday party for my wife. We had a very enjoyable trip and alot of it was because of our host, Mr Thai and his family. Besides the experience of diving to see the coral, the accidental booking due to a recommendation on Facebook turns out to be our second best experience at Phú Quí Island.

The location is convenient, which is near the port, Tam Thanh market and some famous destination. Decor is harmoniously eye-catching with fully-equipped, new and clean rooms. We have the ocean-view room, where I can both see the fishing village and the sea.

Especially, the owners are really welcoming, supportive and helpful. When we discovered we lost the room key at one of the tourist attraction in the late night, Mr. Thai and his wife kindly offered to find the key themselves with smiles as they know we two girls are afraid to go back finding in dark and deserted streets. Homestay sạch sẽ, ngay gần cảng rất tiện, dễ di chuyển đến các địa điểm mọi người hay checkin, hàng quán ăn uống. Anh chị chủ là giáo viên, sinh sống ở tầng dưới, quanh quanh là hàng xóm láng giềng nên nghỉ ở đây cảm giác rất yên bình. Ban đầu book hơi sợ ồn khi mọi người ăn uống, party ở tầng dưới nhưng home có nội quy không làm ồn sau 10:30pm nên mọi người yên tâm nha. Xong hôm nào cũng thấy mọi người party ở dưới lại thấy dễ thương ghê, ai cũng thân thiện ^^ thích nhịp sống ở hòn đảo này lắm luôn ☺️ Một điểm cộng to đùng nữa là anh chủ (Mr. Thái) siêu tốt bụng, nhiệt tình, dễ tính, thân thiện, gần gũi 😊😊😊 Anh đưa đón mình tại cảng, mình về chuyến 02:30pm anh còn cho mình nghỉ qua giờ checkout nữa nè… Tiếc một xíu là chuyến đi này của mình hơi vội, tính mời anh chị cà phê một tối để có cơ hội tìm hiểu về cuộc sống trên đảo Phú Quý qua lăng kính của người địa phương mà hôm nào cũng thấy nhà anh có khách 😅 Homestay cũng có dịch vụ giặt là, cho thuê xe máy, tổ chức tiệc BBQ, nấu ăn… Nói chung là highly recommend cho các bạn nha!
