The hotel is in the centre of Hadiboh. On arrival we were given a temporary twin bed room as ours wasn't cleaned yet. In the evening we got our room which was a double bed. |The rooms are basic, small but have TV, a mini fridge, a/c, fan, shower (very hot water) and toilet. The a/c was rather noisy but it did cool well. There was soap, toilet paper rolls and a small carpet on the bathroom floor. There is also a prayer carpet. ||The hotel offers wi-fi but it was difficult to have it work in the room, it did work fine in the reception area and outside on the common terrace area. |The terrace area had a small drying clothes rack. ||The hotel grounds are nice with a terrace and small garden. ||There is a mosque across the street thus you will be waken up early by the call for prayer. ||The breakfast was nice with some western options such as pancakes and Nutella! |There is a fridge in the restaurant area from which we could take unlimited water, soft drinks and some small snacks at any time during our stay. ||The owner of the hotel really does his best to make your stay great. He's a really friendly person and speaks well English. On some days he was not there which made communication a bit difficult as the other people in the hotel didn't understand English. |It's Socotra, you can't expect A Hilton, it's on par with 2 Star hotels in Europe but it can be refreshing after a few days of camping or handy to reload all the batteries of camera equipment. ||I rated this hotel 3 stars on tripadvisor, because essentially its on par with a 2 star in the rest of the world. The owner is great and we did have a lovely stay but rating it 5 star would be unrealistic. Never the less it’s the best hotel you can find on Socotra so it’s 5 star compared...

We had to stay in this hotel for a couple of nights because our flight back to Abu Dhabi was delayed.
It's considered the best hotel by Socotran standards. It was adequate and just what we needed after a week of sleeping in tents and washing in sweet water streams: a room with a bed and a shower. The room was clean, there's aircon in the room and common areas, and they have a hot shower. WiFi is not so great but it's not like it's the end of the world without it 24/7. The hotel is in the middle of the town so you have access to many shops, the hospital and it's a short drive to the airport. There's breakfast for free, which is decent: pancakes, beans, cheese, and Yemeni honey! 😀 They even have a small assortment of souvenirs for sale like postcards. They accept USD and AED of you don't have local money so we didn't have to worry about changing currencies (unless you want to get stuff from local shops).
The hotel owner was very helpful and even with limited staffing was able to provide us a comfortable stay.
A month after we left, we received a message from the owner saying that he found a 100 USD bill in the courtyard and asked if anyone from our group might have lost and left it there. His integrity is admirable, I have so much respect for him.
We'd love to go back one day to Socotra and we hope to...
