Kigelia Campsite — Hotel in Eastern Province

On first sight Kigelia seems to be a deserted place. However, once you meet the staff, they will win you over. In this era of power outages, the place had power throughout my period of stay...a plus!|I was on a business trip with the need for a self catering accommodation and Kigelia proved to be perfect. The place was home away from home and I couldn't have asked for more. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful doing all they could to make us feel at home. The kitchen was lovely and we were able to prepare our meals conveniently!|The owner Susi, however, seemed be quite rigid and difficult to deal with. The beddings were clean when we got there but were not changed for the week we spent there....I would have expected a change every two days or so. |All in all, it was a good stay...

Kigelia campsite is a beautiful place to stay. It is exactly what it says it is. We camped, had access to hot water and all kitchen facilities which was fantastic. ||It was very quiet, clean and peaceful, with a few relaxing areas to chose from. ||We both felt very comfortable, relaxed and safe. An extremely great price for a one night stay and there was no rush for us to leave any time in the morning. ||There was still some work going on, where an open dining area was being built, but this didn't impact the beauty and quiet of the place. ||Chipata was a great town to stock up, rest and refuel and this campsite was a great place...

We stumbled across this campsite on our way towards the South luangwa national park and couldn't have got any luckier. ||||The owners are a lovely couple who helped us out a lot with directions and advice, very friendly and welcoming and couldn't thank them enough. ||||The camp is just off the main road so really convenient. It offers camping as well as chalets and rooms.
