Luangwa Safari House was our first stop on a family vacation, Jonna, Elizabeth and the rest of the Robin Pope team were fantastic and looked after our every need. When we arrived a Mfuwe airport we were greeted by two of the team who welcomed us and as our luggage had not made it one of them remained behind to bring it as it was due on the next flight.

After about an hour's drive we arrived at one of the most fabulous locations I have ever stayed in! The house is located on the bank of a small watering hole with animals making use of it constantly, when we arrived there were a couple of elephants happily eating the berries that had fallen off the tree next to the pool. Honestly you could just sit on the deck and watch the wildlife go by all day.

The rooms are very comfortable, with excellent beds and the built in cooling in the bug nets is great. During the day the rooms are open so that you can sit and watch the world go past during your mid day break, although we did learn that the Baboons know this and will come in to have a look to see if there is anything worth taking if you are not in the room, bet to lock away your plastic bags (they like the look of these) in your bathroom. At night the team installs some metal frames so that you can get a good night sleep, but you will be able to hear the coming and going of the animals, but have no fear the night guards will move any Elephants along who stop to eat the leafs outside of your room. The bathrooms are big with dual sinks, showers / baths.

The game drives are excellent we saw Elephants, Giraffe, Lion, Buffalo, Hippo, Painted Dogs, and many many more on our first day! Each of the game drives we went on brought a new sighting and locations. Sundowners were a highlight of the game drives watching the sunset from the banks of the Luangwa river was magical.

The meals were fantastic not a single one I didn't like, and Chef Steve was very accommodating with any special requests. Lunch was served out on the deck under the shade of a large tree, while dinner was just outside the on the patio, each night the napkins were styled as a different animal. During our stay the team surprised us with brunch by a lagoon, where Chef Steve cooked over an open fire.

If I were to come back to Zambia I would definitely be coming back to Robin Pope Safari, they mad our whole experience one my family and I will...

I have travelled to over 80 countries and have also been going to Safaris since I was a child. Having been on countless Safaris I can honestly say Luwanga House is one of the MOST incredible experiences! If you want to go on a safari this is the ONE to select in South Luwanga for the following reasons It is hard to find a safari experience that is totally customized to you. You get your own personal staff of about 5-7 people with different responsibilities and they are ALL BEYOND AMAZING! Jona the manager (and also your tour guide with decades of experience) makes sure your wish is their command. Edward and Emmanuel took such incredible care of our family and have been with Robin Pope safari for decades. They find our before hand what your preferences are for food, drinks etc and Chef Simon makes sure you get a delicious 3 course meal including desserts for every meal. Imagine getting 5 star meals in the middle of the wild! They even surprised my kid with a birthday cake that totally made his day! The HOUSE!!! I have never seen such a beautiful and totally open to nature house in the middle of the wilderness. You get your own infinity pool while watching giraffes and elephants grazing across the water. The most surreal and amazing experience. The house is HUGE!!! It has 4 bedrooms and each comes with an attached bathroom that is gigantic. One has a shower and tub. The others all have double showers where you get nice hot showers and lovely amenities. They even have breezeways (like AC) that way you are not hot and the beds are so huge you could play tennis! They have lots of boards games, telescope, yoga mats etc so that if you just want to chill you can do that. They schedule is determined by you (unlike the other safari camps where you have to follow their schedules). We decided to stay longer in the park on our final day and Jona was incredibly accommodating The custom tours with Jona… Jona is an awesome tour guide … you will be in disbelief how he can spot even the smallest of things even if they are far or they totally blend with nature. He really goes out of his way to make sure you get the BEST experience. He followed in the footsteps of his grandpa so he knows the wild like the back of his hand. BOTTOM LINE - THE LUWANGA SAFARI HOUSE from ROBIN POPE SAFARI is worth every penny…....

I have traveled all over the world, but I have never stayed anywhere more extraordinary than Luangwa Safari House, run by Robin Pope Safaris. Our family had so many memorable experiences, to name a few: seeing a "giraffe army" - dozens of giraffes - off the back porch as we get ready for lunch (giraffes are my son's favorite animal); going on the safari with Jonna and finding the lions out on the hunt and then - the next morning - with their giraffe kill; the leopard in the tree with its prey; when the baboon stole the bottle of Chivas from the bar (my daughter got an amazing picture!); when the whole staff sang a Zambian happy birthday and made a surprise cake for my wife! Thanks to everyone at Luangwa Safari House and Robin Pope Safaris for the best family...

Beautiful safari house. Set right in the middle of the wild. Elephants walking past, giraffes drinking water next to you, baboons running around and the staff were impeccable. A truly life changing experience. Zambia will always be with me
