This is a pretty good hotel. I’ve been to a few Marriott hotels, and this one doesn’t disappoint. The staff here are super nice, and even take the time to remember your name. If your looking for really nice people, then this is the area to look. The food here is great, there were some choices that I wasn’t fond of, but I’ve chalked those up to being because they were African specialties, and I’m just not used to them. The rooms are quite nice, but, they can be a bit loud, as the walls aren’t all that thick. But a pair of earplugs easily fixes that. The building is very nicely kept, and is very clean. The staff were able to understand me good, which was a bonus. There are also breakfast buffets In the morning, which are pretty good. All in all, I would say that this is a great place, and would suite you good whether you are looking to stay with your family, or just for business.

Enjoyed my stay here. It’s a well oiled machine♥️♥️. Staff were consistently VERY helpful from the porter, guard, front desk, waiters and were all wearing masks and observed Covid guidelines. Rooms were very cosy and bar fully stocked. It was the only place we found with Castle Lite in the whole town. Immaculate pool, free wifi and parking and what scrumptious food! I recommend the oxtail and nshima it was done to perfection. Definitely the place to sleep over in Chipata

We stopped at the Protea as my wife was unwell and we needed a few nights to recover. What a surprise! Rooms were good. Restaurant was great. The staff outstanding and went out of their way to accommodate us and our needs. Highly recommended! Also note that Google maps sends you to the wrong address. Correct venue is to be found at 9J9C+WC7 Chipata, Zambia

Protea Chipata doesnt have the standard that other Protea around the globe has. It is way overpriced in the value that one gets. The bar isnt so clean, the table they offered us had pieces of food under the table and toothpick on the chair. Only after sometime did they clean it. The rooms are small, the towels are crappy (the ones that falls apart on your skin), the doors squeeked and probably are in need of oil for the past years or so, ACs not running when there is load shedding (when other accommodations in the same class but cheaper actually managed a solution), broken window and trash of sand papers as one looks out of the window (right on the window sill). The pool is also not very clean... Food was okay, some better than the others. Service was friendly but that is the only thing that is good about it. Definitely not worth the...

My first stay was unplanned, I was feeling ill in South Luangwa and we decided to stay at Protea Chipata while I rest and recover. The hospitality and care from the entire team was just wonderful. |They even catered gluten free meals (I have celiac disease) and showed such great concern, it left a lasting impression.||Our next visit, we received the most warmest welcome back. So many team members came up to greet us and welcome us back. It’s just so special. The meals are prepared with such pride, the service is impeccable. ||I can’t name everyone personally as every single staff member was great, but Kelvin, Zak’s, Nyirenda and the rest of team are just amazing. Paul the guard is such a delight!||We highly recommend you enjoy the wonderful stay at...
