What can I say about this camp. It’s just fantastic. Like the bush camp ( which we visited before and also excellent ) but with inside accommodation, really comfy beds, and great showers! Foodwas fabulous too. We spent our three nights in the star bed which was just the best, listening to the hippos communicating with each other, lions roaring, hyenas howling whilst tucked up in bed was so life affirming and thrilling. The staff are just excellent and host TJ is the friendliest loveliest person, always smiling and with great stories. The location at the confluence of the three rivers is stunning and the game viewing is excellent. The waterhole at the front of the camp isa magnet for the animals and a lion walked past it one night when we were having dinner. So exciting.| On a game drive one day, we spotted an elephant with a snare around its lower leg. It was fully embedded and it was so clear he was in great pain. We reported it and our guide went back to stay with the elephant until the vet was called and arrived from Mfuwe within three hours, darting to anaesthetise, removing the snare, removing the dead flesh, cleaning the wound and giving antibiotics. The efficiency that this was done and the obvious care the staff had for the elephant was so reassuring and comforting and really put my mind at rest that he was going to be ok.|Simply a wonderful experience and I can’t recommend this place...
Read moreOur short but unforgettable stay at the Three Rivers Camp began with a greeting from the elephants. Despite only being a 2-hour drive from Kafunta, you could really feel the animals' behavior in the bush. They are not used to people, which made their behavior much more natural. On our walking safari we learned a lot about tracking. Even on the safaris by car, it was special how the animals reacted to us. The lodge itself was true to its name, Bushcamp. A beautiful tent with an outdoor shower and, as a highlight, a star bed. We naturally took advantage of this and spent the night under the stars. The night was accompanied by the sounds of the animals. When we woke up briefly in the night, elephants were eating next to our bed. A very beautiful sight. The food here was also fabulous. Since the bush camp was very small, all the guests ate together and we also spent more time together here. The combination of Kafunta and then Three Rivers Camp was a very nice experience. Unfortunately, our stay at Three Rivers Camp was cut short by our onward flight the next day. However, they organized everything perfectly so that we could spend an extra night in Kafunta to catch our flight the next day. They took care of everything. We didn't have to worry about anything.
