Mpanga Ya Mambwe Lodge — Hotel in Lusaka Province

My Habitat group stayed here on our last night in Africa. We all had double rooms (two beds). Each of them had a king and a twin. The twins were acceptable as matresses go, but the kings were literally just box springs. My friend in a different room complained and they took one of the twin matresses from another room and added it to his box spring after a disagreement. The hotel told him that the expectation is that over time, the "matresses" will get softer. (they won't - I'm telling you, they are box springs!!) He won the argument by explaining that this won't help him sleep tonight. I and others, however, folded our comforters over a few times to create a makeshift sleeping bag upon which to sleep. Wow. Horrible||We also ordered lunch at the hotel restaurant. It took at least 45 minutes for the first plate to come out and then it was a trickle for 10 minutes or so. The menu had all meat dishes so nothing for vegetarians or those sick of meat.||THere are nice hanging chairs by the pool and I took a nap in one of the double sized ones the next day. In retrospect, I should have taken my comforter out there and slept in the pool side chair instead of attempting sleep on my box spring.||There is a Debonairs chain pizza restaurant a block away and a Pick n PAy, but don't walk there after dark. I was in Lusaka Zambia for buisness on the 8th of November 2018 .The lodge staff are very pleasant and helpful .|The lodge also has a very good chef as the meals where very nice and I would definitely recommend even non residents to pass through for a meal. |The rooms are rather small especially the bathroom I am 1.75 tall and I could not fit on the toilet seat as it was too close to the hand basin. |The showers also need replacing as the one in my room was not working properly and hot water was non existant and there was no bathtub. |The plus about this place is that it is just opposite PHI mall hence you can easily walk to the mall to do some shopping.|The rooms also have wooden bed sets and spring mattresses which make them very hard and good for...

The location and facility is strategically positioned for a stop over or business stay. I stayed with my family during the last Christmas and the service has much to be desired manly with the staff at the restaurant and bar. I noticed high levels of complacency in the way we where served. Breakfast was always not freshly made, which was very disappointing. I hope management will look into it.
