NUYANAYA RIVER CAMP: Where luxury and comfort meets the wild. No ammount of words can truly describe this place. Heaven on Earth in the midst of the remote jungles of The Lower Zambezi GMA. A Gem in the Jungle: Verry well and perfectly planned Camp on the banks of the Mighty Zambezi River with breath taking views of the River from the chalets/rooms and main areas. Great accommodation: Verry luxurious and comfortable tented challets/rooms over looking the Mighty Zambezi River. We where accommodated in the Miombo challet wich had 2 separate rooms and bathrooms for us and the kids with a verry spacious and comfortable lounge which was well equipped with a mini bar. The front of the challet has a beautiful deck with a private jaccuzi and a private seating area with stunning views of the Mighty Zambezi River. Beautiful comfortable main area: Verry spacious main area with a nice seating area , dining area, an entertainment area and a prayer room. Joint with the main area is a spacious deck with a beautiful infiinty pool and a fire place/seating area all overlooking the Mighty Zambezi River. Verry Kind, welcoming and humble staff: From the managers (Lieana, Trevor, George and Nikita), verry kind and compassionate from welcoming us on our arrival to bidding farewell to us on our departure, who made sure that everything was perfect and on time and beyond our expectatios , the Guide (Bruce) who took us in all our boat cruises and verry patiently, kindly and constantly guided and taught the kids how to fish, the head Cheff (Mervious) and his team in the kitchen who prepared scrumptuius and delicious meals with their tirless efforts in the kitchen and packed snacks for us whenever we went out for a boat cruise , the waiters (Edgar, Emmanuel and Edward) who potrayed excellent and professionall waiting skills during meals, Elizabeth and her house keeping team who would unnoticingly come and fix and tidy the beds, rooms , bathrooms and lounge whenever and however many times we went out from the challet and we would find the rooms, bathrooms and the lounge spotless clean and tidy whenever we came back to the challet , the night security guards and the gardenners , all professionaly trained, always with a smile and eager to serve us and make our stay more comfortable and most memorable ever. Not forgetting to mention the love and care all the managers and staff showed towards the kids and always did their level best to keep the kids entertained and happy with their extraordinary efforts. Truly making our stay verry comfortable and most memorable ever and making us feel "A Home Away From Home". Truly a CHILD FREINDLY CAMP. Food: Service and food quality is excellent and beyond expectations. Scrumptuius and delicious meals prepared by the head cheff and his team with perfect presentation, from the starters to main course to deserts, everything was perfectly prepared and presented with great service. Even the snacks with the ice coffee and lemonade or ice tea on the boat cruise when doing the sun downer was a meal on its own. Not to forget to mention the unlimited ice creams, milkshakes and mocktails at your service anytime you wish. Boat Cruise: a must to do everyday, consisting of adventurous fishing and game viewing opportunities from the boat with a very professional, knowledgeable and helping guide and experiencing the beautiful and breathtaking sunrise or sunset on the Mighty Zambezi River. Plus Points: The Camp also has a nice and clean spa. They can also organise visits to the National Park aswell. They also have on the house laundry services. Full time WiFi available aswell.

I haven’t done a review for many years of travelling and work around the world, but this of all places deserves one. Perfect position nestled on the Zambia bank of the zambezi overlooking the river and the game park in Zimbabwe on the other side Great accommodation. Total occupancy of nyanaya 16 people. We had a family lodge of two bedrooms/bathrooms with well appointed lounge and huge terrace, complete with our own jacuzzi, itself overlooking the Zambezi. Great staff - 30 in all ranging from Trevor, Ileana, George and Taryn, the managers, the superb guides, Bruce and Gift so knowledgeable and great company, the chefs, the wait staff, Elizabeth and the house staff, the launderers, the gardeners and the security - all superbly trained and happy to make our stay the most memorable ever.. Great food. As a foodie myself and baker, I can tell you the service and food quality is unequaled in Africa. Every meal (normally eating 4 times a day) exquisitely prepared by an accomplished chef and his staff and every day a different cuisine, an Indian night, a braai, an African, a European. Take a tour of the kitchen, it is worth it to meet the chefs. And a special shout out to the wait staff who prepared great mocktails and fed us with constant ice cream. The game viewing. Although a bit restricted compared to places like south luangwa, south Zambezi national park and the adjacent game reserve area are still impressive. So many elephants compared to my experiences 35 years ago, and a good range of deer, warthog, zebra, etc, etc. and don’t forget the 5 metre crocodiles and so many impressive bird species. The sunset cruise. A must every night with Bruce. A safari in itself as hugging the Zimbabwe bank we saw so many animals including 3 elephants swimming across the river and being challenged by 9 hippo. A memorable experience and great video. As well as the sunset over the Zambezi. Are there downsides? Yes, for some. The drive from Lusaka is tedious, but so it would be to go elsewhere and you could arrange a flight to the new local airstrip. There is no booze or pork as the owner (not present) is Muslim. But you can bring your own booze and the chefs beef bacon is great. After visiting 105 countries and living and working in Africa for 20 years, I can truly say this experience will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank You everyone at Nuyanaya.

We had a great night away at the beautiful Nuyanaya River Camp. Service and hospitality are top range, the food is excellent and the design of the rooms so nicely done. Also a fabulous spa with the best massages, highly experienced guides and the most welcoming staff allover. We felt very special throughout and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have a great and luxurious night(s) away.
