Dr Sondashi L. must be one of the most patriotic Zambians, I am in Solwezi for the first time and I find a properly done lodge by him. If every Zambian can use Lusaka as a stepping stone - and channel the money earned to their homelands! He has invested in Lusaka as well for example he has Anina's lodge just where I live.
Let us give our country general development, let us use Lusaka as a stepping stone! Lusaka has seen the advancements just because it is where the central government is, which has been directing national wealth like taxes to it.
Now as our standard, I am sleeping and can hear loud cheap music playing from nearby.
Unlike Kitwe, I was happy to hear my language being spoken - sad too that I have not heard the local languages. Just like I have found disgruntled easterners speaking Bemba in Chipata as the do their businesses like washing cars, mending tyres, misbehaving, abusing other people and alcohol, and prabably pickpocketing - they are of course taking advantage of the 6/10.
Let us all be patriotic and too, have identities by speaking our own languages!
English is of course our official language but Africa to develop local language domesticatio is needed.
And is globalisation going to lead to digital language? I think so and hope to live to that time and those who will I hope will say one Charles Mulilo saw the digital language coming. Sign language is rather univarsal probably digital.
Am I digital? And are we all gonna be digital? But how do you beat drums, or cause digital vibrations? I used to wonder that a deaf person could dance to music until I got to know that they feal the vibrations through their feet.
What about the myth that water bottles placed around a place keep dogs away? A certain young man explained that the dogs actually run away from their own...
Read moreMy wife and I spent two nights at the Floriana Lodge, at the beginning and the end of our visit to Zambia's Northwestern province. The staff were friendly and welcoming and mostly responsive to our requests. The rooms were comfortable with relatively spacious bathrooms.||||The grounds were attractive and included a sizable pool, which I used on one hot afternoon, even though it appeared to only be heated by the sun. On our second stay, a wedding party stopped by for a photo shoot on the attractive grounds near the pool. We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor covered areas, which are marked as smoking areas, but we did not encounter any smokers.||||We enjoyed the substantial breakfast offerings, even on the first day, when we arrived on an early flight from Lusaka. Their is an outdoor grill/bar area that makes for a relaxed/romantic setting for dinner if you let the server/kitchen know that you would like to eat outside.||||I refrained from giving an excellent rating due to the following details, which could readily be addressed by the staff:||||* The free WiFi service was unreliable, with an extended downtime during both of our visits||* There was a several hour power outage until 17:00 during the afternoon of our second visit. Although the lodge claims to have a backup generator, this was not turned on.||* Rooms with double beds are only furnished with a single towel. On both stays we had to request a second towel for our room. During the first stay, this request had to be made three times before a second towel was brought...
Read moreMy co-workers room was robbed. M. dropped off her belongings and within half an hour while we were in the lodges dining room her room had been invaded. They took all her cashUS cash, kwatcha and her cell phone.. we waited 3 hours for the manager to show up at the property but she did not. The police also were called . No answers and today I had tem minutes with the anger. After going to the police station, we were told they would be on the property at 2pm. Then since the purpose of our Vist was to train women we tried to get one session completed before returning to the property. We arrive at the lodge only to be told the manager was gone. After reaching her on her cell phone she said she would be back at 5pm you guessed it. She is not here. I give this hotel no rating due to the lack of help in...
