Excellent service and customer oriented. Nice low-key vibe and rooms are very well done with Zambian furniture...a refreshing break from the usual cheap, glitzy plastic one gets in urban lodges... The only downside is the lights... floodlights, spotlights, garden lights, porch lights... all conspire against a natural nights sleep. So bring your own curtains... For tourists coming to see the lake's fish diversity: the snorkelling is good, with the beach consisting of large cobbles giving sheltet to colourful cichlids like Tropheus, Eretmodus, Lamprologus and many others. Its also worth checking under the larger stones for cute pygmy catfish (often cohabiting with crabs), and there's also many spiny eel. Just inquire about any recent crocodile or hippo movements before swimming.

Was disappointed as the resort is not as advertised on Facebook. Only has 3 rooms and a small bar/restaurant area. Limited bar list as they didn't have Hunters Dry which I ordered. Actives Tha are advertised on their Facebook such as boat cruise are also not available. The resort is still work in progress..... Undoubtedly, it will be a great place once complete given its water front location by the lake.

Didn't stay, so I can't comment on rooms. But service and location was top notch. Beautiful serene gem in Mpulungu. Catered for us as vegans. Food was top-notch. Fresh, flavourful, generous amounts. Served with friendly warm energy. The owner and staff were very helpful and accommodating. Couldn't ask for more. Oh yea, your view is of Lake Tanganikya while you eat. Perfect!

Napanji and her team are excellent host for your ideal stay at the resort.|The resort is opposite to the Mpulungu side of Lake Tanganyrika -a pebble full side but with magnificent view.|We booked 2 rooms for family of four and we had the place to ourselves the two nights that we stayed here.|Napanji organised our trip to Isanga bay and Luke's bay by calling the owners of Isanga.|She also helped us to visit Kalambo falls by calling the owner of Kalombo lodge and checked the road conditions. We decided to stay at Kalombo lodge and cut short our three night booking to 2 nights. Napanji very kindly accommodated our request.|Cynthia as chef cooked great food and allowed me to guide them to cook Indian style chicken and vegetable curry. Her omelette is so fluffy, spicy and filling.|The rooms are comfortable though lights are on dim side. There is no TV but who needs TV when the views are gorgeous.|You cannot swim this side of the lake as its full of pebbles.|Yes, a fridge in rooms would be appreciated specially in the humid Mupulungu weather. Also, if you don't put the AC and close all windows to keep flies away the nights can be stuffy. Mesh on window can allow the nice lake breeze to wonder inside.|Overall a nice...

What I really love about this place is the intimacy the Lake Tanganyika Resort has to offer. It is small and modest but with a beautifully designed interior: The usage of local and honest materials such as wood, stones, metal and concrete is what I like.

However, the Lake Tanganyika Resort is still a "work in progress". They are developping the place. I rekon, in a few years the place will find it's final form. Another thing they might work on are the moskitos in the bedrooms. There are moskito nets, however, an insectizide treatment before a guest moves in, might not be a bad idea.

I appreciate the personal touch and the direct line to the manager, Napanje. She did good work and I will for sure be there again. It will be my secret weekend retreat.

06.01.2023 - Amendment: I would call myself a regular now. Issues with the mosquitoes have been solved. ACs are installed in the room and working.

Food is great. Order in advance. Drinks are sometimes a bit short.

Napanji can help you organize small activities (e.g.,...
