Lotri Bay Lodge — Hotel in Southern Province

Booked via email and WhatsApp! Communication with Marlene was pretty easy. She was able to give advice on the best route to get there. There is now also WiFi at the gate to let them know when you arrive. Marlene was very welcoming and happy to give any advice and help.

We had a beautiful campsite with views of the bay. No power points at each site but will be connected soon, there are also more ablution blocks being built. Everything was clean, tidy and well organised. There's also wifi via Star link, so it's well connected.

Food needs to be ordered in advance - we ordered some lunch which was delivered via boat to our campsite in a lovely picnic basket, including cutlery etc. It was delicious so I highly recommend if you don't fancy cooking! There are no shops nearby, so bring what you need if you plan on cooking.

Grab some fishing rods and fish in their little dam for your supper! Do the sunset boat trip and watch sun dip behind the hills while having a beer and delicious snacks! At night, grab a chair and look for shooting stars!

Undoubtedly our favourite campsite of our 3 month overlanding trip. All you need to do is read the reviews here and on iOverlander to get the best possible summary of this amazing place and its staff. Very nice and friendly place for camping! We traveled with our 3 boys (6 & 4) and really love this place. Good pool, clean ablutions, hot water, child friendly activities, good food, etc. A must go if you are planning a trip this side of Zambia. They are making electricy poles, new wifi (Starlink provided), electric gate, so no worries for the future! Just go, you will love it. One of the best places we visited on our 3 months...
