What an amazing place. Firstly the setting is unbelievable. Lots of different little areas to enjoy from by the river, to the main dining area and bar area, the fitness area is well done and fit for purpose and everything is to a really high quality. It is a magical place to go on the river, see the sunsets and switch off from life whilst plenty of things to do.||Next - the team. Linda has them incredibly well managed. Truly first class from Linda and Sebastian down to every person doing their bit including the man at the gate giving me high fives as I was doing lengths on my run! It’s gated so no big animals can be a threat but also meant I couldn’t go running outside the perimeter unaccompanied. Everyone is part of the team with a. Massive smile. The communal Boma night was lovely and the team will organise anything you need. The service was far beyond anything you get in Europe. ||The accommodation was great. Great pool that was heated and beautiful lodge to stay in with a big main room and then large sized bedrooms and everything we needed. The food was great as well with the kids loving it (who can be tricky) through to the food for us that was delicious and varied. As a smaller boutique hotel they can’t offer vast choice but there was variety enough and it really was amazing food. We did the cooking course which was great fun too and there were a few special surprises from the hotel that I won’t spoil for others. I doubt we will go back because there are too many places to see in the world but it will hold a very special place for us.||Other practical advice - In August there were no mosquitos or bugs which was nice and there was quite a lot of crossing of borders so make sure you get the KAZA multi-crossing Visa.||Again - well done Linda and team....
Read moreMy wife and I have travelled across the globe and have been fortunate to stay at some incredible hotels and resorts. Recently we spent 3 nights at the Mukwa River Lodge while visiting Victoria Falls in Livingstone, Zambia. This is a brand new, full-board lodge that is on the Zambezi River. Our experience at this lodge exceeds any place we have ever stayed. The lodge sits on a great piece of property with amazing views of the river. The design is beautiful with indoor and outdoor spaces that are gorgeous, decorated beautifully and very relaxed and comfortable. There is a great pool, fitness room and spa. The food was delicious, plentiful and on par with any top restaurant. There are only 7 rooms and most with a deck overlooking the river with its own dunk pool. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom huge with both an indoor and outdoor shower. The in-room refrigerator was stocked with beer, wine and soft drinks. A decanter with Sherry and Gin was in each room. A Nespresso Machine, French Press and instant coffee and tea were available in the rooms along with delicious snacks. They have a boat available for sunset river cruises and you can even catch Tiger Fish from their dock!
Every employee we encountered were incredibly kind and worked hard to provide a great experience. A shout out to Linda who manages the resort and Chi Chi, Dennis and Current, all who exceeded my expectations. We were fortunate to meet the owners Aaron and Edgar, both who clearly have a passion for creating an amazing experience for guests.
I will always remember this beautiful place and I hope to...
Read moreWow, We found a sliver of heaven in Zambia! Where do I even begin!? This place is INCREDIBLE. From the moment we arrived we were given the warmest welcome from Linda and team and felt like family during our entire stay. The property and rooms were hands down the most gorgeous place we’ve ever been to. In addition to the white glove service we received, the food was absolutely incredible. The Turkish Eggs for breakfast may be my favorite meal ever! It’s a must try! Mukwa thought of everything and our stay was so enjoyable. My husband and I were there on our honeymoon and they had surprises set up for us every single every day which made us feel so special. The best was getting into bed at night and having a warm pack under the sheets to get into. The little touches and details made this a place we will always remember and we cannot wait to return one day. While it’s still being built, Mukwa will soon have their own functioning farm where guests can go pick their own organic food from (including chickens for eggs)! Thank you Mukwa family for absolutely everything!! We had...
