We are from Australia and riding bicycles across Southern Africa. We stopped here for the night. What an amazing, authentic African experience we had at an affordable price. The community village supports the preschool/junior school next door which teaches vulnerable disadvantaged kids from local villages. We booked on Booking.com and Cynthia was waiting for us. We stayed in a hut with beds, sheets, towels, electricity and a fan. There was a shared shower and flush toilet and wifi available. Cynthia cooked us a delicious evening meal which we ate by the camp fire. Cynthia gave us a tour of the school site and vegetable garden. It was all inspiring hearing about the volunteer teachers and helpers who run this school and give opportunities to the children. I highly recommend staying here.

I stayed at the Nakawa Community Campsite and had an absolutely perfect experience. From the moment I arrived, Cynthia, the host, her warm welcome and hospitality made me feel right at home. During my stay, I opted to stay in the hut, and I was very happy with my choice. The hut was comfortable and cozy! Cynthia also prepared a delicious dinner that was a real treat. What makes Nakawa Community Campsite even more special is its connection to the local school. Visitors have the opportunity to visit the school and learn about the community's educational initiatives. The best part is that the funds generated from the campsite go directly to supporting the school. It's a wonderful way to contribute! I highly recommend this campsite for an exceptional and meaningful camping experience.

Great campsite for a night between Kazungula and Livingstone. Basic but clean amenities (pit toilet and bucket shower), trees for shade and very welcoming and passionate owners. All profits go towards their pre-school which is close by. They can also show you around the village and the school if you’re interested. I got to meet so many incredibly friendly Zambians there, would definitely recommend.

Nakawa Campsite is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, Cynthia’s warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The campsite is well-equipped, with shaded spots, tables, seating, and clean showers and toilets. We stayed in a cozy hut that gave us a true sense of the local culture.

Cynthia’s delicious home-cooked meal was a highlight, and sharing stories around the campfire added a personal touch. The connection to the local school, which supports vulnerable children, makes this place truly special. Cynthia’s tour of the school and explanation of its impact were inspiring.

Our stay was a heartfelt and...
