This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Zambia. Set by the mighty Zambezi River, it takes your breath away watching the sun set by the water. My family went to celebrate Christmas and the day went swimmingly with a game safari in the morning followed by dinner in the evening. Dinner was definitely not well planned. We booked our table as per instruction on arrival but come evening on the day there was no table for us! We were guests staying in the hotel and someone didn't bother reserving our booked table. We ended up being ushered upstairs which seemed like the office area and offered an office desk to dine from. After a protest, some tables were brought upstairs to accommodate more sitting. The dinner service was slow.... nearly abandoned it and when it arrived; it was cold (apart from the pigs in blankets). The plate was a mish mash of shredded chicken, gammon and beef. It was a disaster, my daughter didn't even touch hers (but got charged for it). The dessert was meant to be cheesecake and what was served was unpalatable. We complained to the tired looking staff who could only offer us a sorry. We noticed the same staff from the morning were the ones still on duty at night. Probably overwhelmed and overworked. I would not discourage anyone from visiting this place, the bad experience with Christmas could have been a one off as the staff were generally very good and polite. The accommodation was beautiful, shame I didn't take any photos, but here are a few for the...
Read moreWe traveled with friends and booked two nights camping at the lodge. Coming from Namibia we made the unfortunate choice of going through the border at Katima Mulilo so as to only have to go through one border post instead of two (Ngoma and Kazungula).||||That was a mistake as we were stuck at the border post for a full 7 hours, ending up leaving after dark and having to drive a terrible road at night (we took 6 hours to drive the 200km) so we only arrived at VFWF lodge at 2:30 in the morning. Needless to say we did not feel like setting up camp at that time!||||Sekala at reception was very understanding and almost apologetic for our situation (not that it was his fault) and upgraded us to their already set up tents and even only charged us local rates.||||The next day Florence also assisted us because we needed 4 tents but only 2 were open for the full 2 nights of our stay, so she set us up in 4 garden rooms for the second night which were wonderful. We had to pay in and the rooms are very pricey and much more than what we normally budget (considering we usually camp), but it helped us forget about the terrible border experience and end our trip on a high note.||||The setting is also beautiful right on the banks of the mighty Zambezi river - you cannot go wrong with booking a stay at this...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had dinner at Victoria Falls Waterfront, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable evenings of our trip to Livingstone. The setting alone is worth the visit — right on the banks of the Zambezi River, with the sun setting in the distance, casting golden light across the water Overall a great view of the river as the boats cruise by. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of hippos and crocodiles nearby, which added a magical touch to the already stunning atmosphere.
The restaurant has a warm, laid-back vibe, perfect for unwinding after a day of activities. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive, which made us feel relaxed and well taken care of throughout the evening.
We decided to try their wood-fired pizza — something many had recommended — and it truly lived up to the hype. Crispy base, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of flavor.
If you're looking for a romantic dinner spot, a place to enjoy drinks by the water, or just a great meal in Livingstone, Victoria Falls Waterfront is a fantastic choice. We’d definitely return on...
