We have stayed in boutique hotels all over the world, and rarely have we been provided with such a completely artistic and aesthetic experience as we had at Amanzi Lodge. From our very first communication with the owner, Andrew Mama, and manager George, we were enveloped in what can only be described as Amanzi Lodge’s signature artistic hospitality. Every interaction throughout our entire stay was not just warm and friendly but genuinely above and beyond in its care and consideration. Each conversation with every staff member (from reception to gardeners to housekeeping to the magnificent restaurant crew) was a testament to the extraordinary level of attention and genuine kindness that defines Amanzi Lodge.||Amanzi Lodge, with its beautiful gardens and unique charm, offers a truly memorable African experience. The attention to detail extends to every aspect of the stay, from the well-curated art pieces that adorn the interiors to the meticulously designed and maintained gardens that provide a serene and picturesque environment. The combination of fantastic food, interior design, and spectacular gardens showcases the very best of Africa, making every moment spent at Amanzi a celebration of beauty and artistry.||When we travel, we always seek out a place to stay that can be a rejuvenating sanctuary after long days of exploring (or in the case of this trip, work and connections). Our stay in the Uganda Suite at Amanzi Lodge was nothing short of magical. The views were breathtaking, and the unique atmosphere of detailed elegance made us reluctant to ever leave the balcony. (Yes, even the balcony was indescribably special).||While it would have been easy to just settle into and soak up the room, we are so glad we listened to adventure’s call and explored the breathtaking landscape that literally and figuratively flows throughout the entire property. Each time we ventured out to explore the Amanzi grounds, we were met with enchanting surprises. The interiors are exquisitely appointed, each room a masterpiece of design that feels both luxurious and welcoming, but the landscaping is a marvel, like strolling through a living art museum filled with vibrant sculptures and blooming flowers, reminiscent of a heaven-sent oasis.||The owners, Julia and Andrew Mama, are the epitome of gracious hosts. Their warmth and friendliness made us feel like cherished guests and part of their extended family. They went above and beyond, connecting us with local artists and gallery curators, and their personal greetings in the corridors always came with a genuine smile and heartfelt conversation.||Even now that we have returned home, the inspiration drawn from Amanzi Lodge continues to resonate. The space they have created is more than just a place to stay; it is a sanctuary of beauty, art, and heartfelt hospitality. For anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Harare, Amanzi Lodge offers an unparalleled blend of comfort, elegance, and a deep connection to African art and culture. It is a treasured oasis that we will...

No wonder they call it Amanzi (water) because this restaurant is sure to make waves in the culinary scene. Transport yourself to the heart of the savannah with their rustic lodge-themed decor, the cosy and warm atmosphere is the perfect escape from the winter chill complete with rearing fireplaces.

Their knowledgeable and friendly staff make the menu and drink selection effortless and the bartender whips up a mean margarita using freshly squeezed limes! The culinary preparation is exceptional, the peri prawn risotto showcases a masterful blend of creamy well-cooked risotto rice and succulent prawns, complemented by a spicy touch of chilli. If you're in the mood for a fruity dessert, the blueberry frangipane tart is delightful and perfectly balances the sweetness of blueberries with the richness of almond cream, creating a burst of flavour that is sure to satisfy your fruity cravings. The amaretto affogato dessert was a perfect end to the meal for those who enjoy a boozy decadent treat to satisfy their sweet tooth!

Overall Amanzi offers a unique dining experience, making it an ideal spot for a romantic date or a night out with friends seeking something beyond the typical city...

A beautiful Gem in Harare

As we celebrate Christmas on the 24th in Sweden we decided to try Amanzi as it had good reviews online. We were staying at the other end of town so the taxi drive there felt like we were leaving town. On arrival you enter the beautiful grounds lush and green.

The restaurant itself is both beautiful and inviting. Our host, Tiffany, welcomed us warmly and guided us to our table, which was elegantly styled and dimly lit. We started with the wine list and cocktail menu, opting for their Dry Martini. Often a hit-or-miss, these martinis were crafted to perfection.

We chose a bottle of South African Shiraz Celestial to accompany our meal, which included Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder and Confit Duck Leg. Both dishes were exquisitely presented and cooked to perfection. The duck, in particular, was the best we’ve ever had.

For dessert, we indulged in Sticky Toffee Pudding. While delicious, the cream served alongside tasted slightly off. Despite this minor flaw, our experience was overwhelmingly positive.

In conclusion, we highly recommend Amanzi for a sophisticated night out. We look forward to returning for lunch to enjoy the beautiful grounds...

I visited my brother-in-law who was staying here on a business trip. He was in the Seychelles suite which was very luxurious with a King-sized bed, balcony, large shower and claw-foot bath. We went for dinner in the restaurant and the menu was a contemporary mix of local ingredients made in Euro-cuisine style. For starters I had the Nyanga Trout ceviche which was fresh, flavourful and well-seasoned. My mains was the Moroccan Lamb Curry and dessert was a very delicious frangipani blueberry tart. Our server was very knowledgeable and communicated well. However we were somewhat ignored at the tail end of the meal when a large dinner party arrived. We decided to have some cognacs for our nightcap and this is where a very good experience turned sour. The cognac cos $140 for the round or $70/glass. When asked the server tried to justify saying it's Hennessy VSOP, but even then the pricing was spectacularly exorbitant. All in all, a great experience... Just don't order the Henny.
