Assekrem — Local services in Tazrouk

This is a high volcanic mountain (no, no crater, but lava rocks everywhere) high in the Ahaggar National Park. A very isolated location where some monks study the weather.

The road from Tamanrasset is 15 minutes of paved road, and 3 hours of variable track, some pretty smooth, but other very hard on the vehicle. Our driver was a champion at dodging stones! Not much wild life see aside from a few donkeys and domestic camels. The views are beautiful all along.

Staying in Assekrem is really only for the hard core camper as there is very little support (no water with all the hygiene implications one can envision). I spend a hard night in a dormitory and was rapidly convinced to go to more comfortable locations.

On the way, one can see a pretty oasis (actually, more the source of a river that goes back underground) called Afilal. There is, closer to Tamanrasset, another source with "sparkling water" that tasted...

At the Assekrem you can find an old church of Cristian believers , the fathers there are very hospital and nice! if reach the top of the mountain you will feel the real cold weather of the Sahara when it is -5 during it nights. الجزائر ـ تعدّ جبال الهقار ذات التشكيلات البركانية الخامدة من المناطق الصحراوية التي تصنفها “اليونسكو” ضمن التراث العالمي المحفوظ.

وفي هذا المكان الساحر، يمكن للزائر أن يشاهد أجمل الممرات في العالم المعروفة بممر “أسكرام”، نسبة إلى هضبة “أسكرام”، التي ترتفع عن سطح البحر بحوالي 2800 كم، وتقع فوقها صومعة الراهب شارل دو فوكو الذي اعتكف فيها لسنوات طويلة قبل أن يُقتل سنة 1916.

ويؤكد بلقاسم بن شرودة، الذي يعمل في مجال حماية الآثار، لوكالة الأنباء العمانية، أنّ الطريق إلى قمة “أسكرام” تحفُّها معالم ومحطات للفن الصخري تعود إلى فترات ما قبل التاريخ. ;يُمكن الاستمتاع بأجمل المناظر الطبيعية التي لا يمكن أن تتكرّر في مكان آخر من العالم؛ فالشروق والغروب في المنطقة لهما متعة خاصة.

ويُرجع بن شرودة هذه الظاهرة إلى أنّ ألوان الطيف تمتزج بألوان الجبال والرمال فتشكل طبقات مختلفة للأفق، مشيرا إلى أنه يمكن مشاهدة هذه الظاهرة في كلّ وقت من السنة، شريطة أن يكون الجوُّ صافيا.

ويُرجع موسى وانكيلا، المختصّ في فيزياء الطاقة، هذه الظاهرة إلى أن المعادن والحجارة الموجودة في جوف جبال الهقار، ترسل أشعة عند شروق الشمس، وعندما تلتقي التقاء مباشرا بالمجسّمات الصخرية المشعبة بالمعادن والأحجار الكريمة، ينتج عنها انعكاسٌ طيفيٌّ يتيح لنا رؤيته...
