I absolutely loved this hike! We took a taxi from Kapan to Storot village for 15,000 AMD (one way) around 6:30 AM and started hiking from there. The trail is gets steeper as you go and is rocky near the top. We turned back at the final rocky stretch as it felt risky, but luckily met the HikeArmenia team who were marking trails that very day and guided us to the summit/cross. Soon we were standing above a sea of clouds, completely amazed. 🌥️✨ If it’s your first time, I highly recommend hiring a guide because the last part isn’t clearly marked. You can also take taxis that go almost to the top and back. They start very early so that you can catch the sunrise near the summit, but it's costlier. We hiked back down to Baghaburj (~17 km). Mount Khustup is moderately challenging but absolutely worth it for the stunning views.

One of the best hikes of my life. The views from the top were breathtaking. We took a taxi from Kapan Storot and hiked from there, and it took us about 4 hours. However reaching the summit is quite tricky, as the path is not very obvious and quite steep. Fortunately for us, HikeArmenia team was marking the trail on the day we hiked, and guided us with the summit. While climbing down from the summit, we weren't sure how to get down the rocky part, as it was quite steep. Mr. Arthur from the HikeArmenia team, who had already started heading back, saw us, climbed back up and helped us down. If you are planning to reach to the very top, make sure you know your way back, and don't get stuck like us. The hike without the final climb is also quite great and worth doing.
