We were making our own food for a few years while we had access to bulk meat. Riley's food works out around the same price but all the work is done. I realise there's variations in the blends based on availability, but it would be nice to have a little more information on the ratios of lean meat, fat, fish and veg. We were fairly careful with our blends. Does it really matter? We liked the consistency knowing you start with a healthy, energetic dog and by not changing the food you remove a variable so you can identify if your dog's health or energy levels change, you know the food should not be a factor, and eliminate that straight away. I had zero idea what I was doing when I was transitioning my puppy to a raw diet. My puppy is now 7 months old and has a little brother that’s 11 weeks old and both are fed Riley Raw and love it.
