âIf youâre looking for fun, keep driving.â
Today we took 60 year 9 kids as part of a school group to David Grahamâs Golf Complex expecting a fun day out⌠what we got was a masterclass in disappointment. We arrived to find out the main course had been mysteriously "closed" â surprise! Apparently, someone forgot to cancel us like they did with every other local school. Cheers for the heads-up, team.
Instead, we were offered a whopping two activities: putt putt and the driving range â each lasting about 30 minutes. That left us with roughly two hours of âguess what happens nextâ (spoiler: nothing).
When I asked if the kids could hit a few more balls to kill time, I was met with a hard no â because apparently the balls now need to be collected by hand like itâs 1825. I was eventually granted one extra bucket⌠to share among 60 kids. Generous doesnât even begin to describe it. (Actually, it does â just not in this case.)
As a final cherry on top, we were asked if our buses could come back early to pick us up. Translation: âYouâre kinda ruining our vibe.â
To be fair, our students handled it like absolute champs â more mature than the customer service on offer.
Bottom line: If you're a school looking to organise an excursion, maybe try literally any other venue where enthusiasm isnât treated like a burden and buckets of balls arenât rarer than gold.
Will not be returning. Would sooner organise a team-building activity in a car park. At least there, you know what...
Read moreI took the two boys down and bought a bucket of golf balls and hit them down the range the boys got the hang of it after a little while and I kept slicing mine but overall we had a great time and the boys said how soon can we go back so that says it all . I have since gone back and got a lesson and fixed up my slicing they have a pro golfer that gives lessons by appointment how good is that. I recently discovered that there is a nine hole three par Golf course down the back I went and had a game and it was great you can take your dog and you can have a run around while you play just be careful it doesnât run off with your ball as you can see in the video . there are so many activities hear that you could spend a whole day just trying out each one...
Read moreLots of fun for little kids and big kids. The mini putt course is pretty cool and slightly better maintained when compared to the course at Broadmeadow but the real attraction is the driving range. Grab a bucket of balls and smash your stresses over the horizon one ball at a time. Imagine your enemies heads and all that is dear to them in the form of a small dimpled ball and the driver is your sword of justice that you use to smite them and right the wrongs they have...
