I cannot recommend this tour enough. Such an amazing experience. Once you arrive, you are fitted with a fill length wetsuit and they had the right sizes for my boys 7 and 9. A short walk out to the boat and then you are off. A 15 min boat trip and you are already watching the sea lions as they sunbath on the shore. They weren't yet playing in the water so off to find dolphins. Jade fitted us all with masks and snorkels and next thing you knew, we were swimming with dolphins. At least 10 of them. Both Alan amd Jade ensured that everyone had seen them, moving the boat as required. Jade was wearing a shark repelling device too which is reassuring. They both helped looking out for the kids, ensuring they were happy and comfortable. Then back to the seals we went. Alan ensured we got a close look at a pup feeding with his mother, whilst not interrupting them. In the water, simply magical. Those seals that wanted to engage came swimming up to us. It was almost like one wanted a belly rub. So playful. Even as we were boating away, 2 particularly playful ones were jumping out of the water. Some hot chocolate and biscuits were welcome as we came back on board. The water was warmer than I thought it would be, but a wetsuit was certainly a benefit. My cheeks were aching at the end of the tour, from smiling so much. I cannot recommend this enough and recommend booking in advance as many other people we spoke to at various sites around the coast...

The team at Baird Bay Experience have thought of everything to make this a 10/10 day.

Tea, coffee, orange juice and snacks on arrival. The facility is professional and welcoming, the gear is top quality and well looked after. The staff are incredible, both knowledgeable and friendly.

The tour itself is perfectly structured with a short 15 minutes commute down the bay to the seal lion colony offering maximum time in the water interacting with wild seal lions and dolphins. Which in itself is just the most amazing experience.

Upon return you're offered a private hot fresh water outdoor shower which is heaven once the adrenaline and excitement of the day has subsided.

To top the day off you're sat down to a fresh, local caught restaurant quality meal and a beverage of your choice from the bar to be enjoyed looking over the amazing scenery of the bay.

If for a second you're hesitant by the price like I was, I implore you not to be. This is truely a day you will remember for the rest of your life and is honesty worth every penny and more!

The animal experience is alright, but the energy in this place is weird and facilities and service fall way behind expectations. Sea lions are amazing creatures; however, we saw many dolphins before the sea lion spot and we didn’t stop to swim with them. When we finished with the sea lions and went back to look for the dolphins, they were not there anymore. Why wouldn’t you stop once we saw them?! They were so many of them around the boat at that particular moment. Also, they don’t provide you with water, just a hot choc with milk which is not adequate for all dietary types. There are only two toilets and no showers. In the toilets there are some power points that I used to blow dry my hair because I was freezing after the tour. One of the managers (I assume) knocked the door and quite rudely said I needed to get out because the next tour was coming in, basically kicking me out as if I was doing something wrong. I stayed for a while outside reorganising my car and realised no one else was waiting to use that toilet. In general it looked as if people working at this place were just not happy with their job (except for the boat driver - he was such a friendly pal).
