A pleasant little suprise...

How good could a Bahn Mi be from a place next door to your local service station be? Pretty damn good it turns out!

The bread was crusty but super light and fluffy. The roast pork was on point with it's seasoning. The salad fresh and the chili had a zing without being too much of a danger for anyone who might be spice cautious. Very satisfying, and I think I'd put it up for comparison against any other I've had. Loved it!

Inside is tiny, with a small bench seating area. There's some outdoor seating for you, if you can deal with the noise of trucks and traffic. Despite this, they've done their best to make it as feel friendly and welcoming as possible. The staff are definitely help with that; so very friendly and seem to know their regulars very well. Ok - I've tried the crispy pork, the crumbed chicken and the honey soy chicken bahn mi's and I can't decide my favourite they're all so good. If I had to I'd pick the crumbed chicken but I'd add extra sauce to combat the dryness of the breading on the chicken. All the ingredients are superb though and this has got to be the best bahn mi spot in the area imo.

I was a little concerned to see a recurring fee on my eftpos transactions though and it was a different amount each transaction - $1.63 / $1.75 and $3.38. Is that some kind of eftpos surcharge? And why is it a differing amount each time I visit?

RAVE ALERT‼️ As a coeliac for over 30 years I can say I have never seen this level of care - ever. I ordered a GF Bahn Mì and said I was coeliac. They have a separate section to prepare the roll and the rolls are kept in a sealed container in this area. A separate portion of pork came out of the kitchen and then they brought out from the fridge a big sealed container of the salad, pâté, butter with dedicated tongs and spreaders all inside the container. The bread is amazing, crispy on the outside, light and soft inside, the filling is pure vietnamese awesomeness! Absolute taste sensation. Do yourself a favour and go...
