This is a spectacular little grotto hidden in the valley. Parking is a bit precarious, just a pull in at the side of a steep narrow valley road. The walk in is a steep stairway, with limited railing and made of rough rocks. Bit from the first rocky outcrop it is a really pretty adventure, descending in to the canyon like cave. Much more a series of overhanging cliffs than a cave, the steep tall sides lend a sense of majesty to this little walk. There are trees and ferns, a small waterfalls and rock ledges. The ground is damp and muddy so clambering the paths can get slippery. I highly recommend this for adventurers of all ages, but you do need to be able to climb steep rough steps with confidence.

Well this place is pretty special and absolutely stunning. A short drive from Katoomba, and great parking just across from the trail. After a good rainfall, the waterfall comes alive. You might find some leeches & that’s part of the fun! I also might be a little biased on how beautiful this place is because we got married here, as we eloped from Canada with only our kids. Fun fact: Mad Max was filmed here!

There were no mermaids… however. Wow! Holy moly 🤩 this place is unreal! I mean, it is real, like it exists. But you can’t believe it does, even when you see it. It’s like, how even? The spectacular surroundings of flora and rocks, coupled with the cool air and ice cold water running through the middle. You gotta see it for yourself dog!! Get on it, like right now. GO! What are you waiting for?
