Flagstaff Hill — Local services in Bowen

Hasn't changed in over 10 years. But still a great spot to visit for a view over the islands and town - so pretty. Don't bother visiting on a public holiday because the Cafe will be shut, some how we've managed to do that twice in 10 years. Gardens are pretty near the Cafe and to the north but the carpark and viewing platform needs landscaping and weed control to improve the view - can't see part of the view due to weeds. No identified walking tracks or trails from the top...

The new Flagstaff Hill Wedding and Convention Centre opened a couple of months ago. The Cafe is absolutely wonderful and prices are reasonable. The staff there are very friendly and professional. The view is one of the "Jewels in Bowen's crown". If you have never been into Bowen, then do it, you will not be disappointed with this beautiful town. Make sure you get to Flagstaff Hill....and BRING...

The new cafe here is excellent! Lots of choice and they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner is coming soon. They have options like avo on toast, sausage rolls & fish and chips but they also have lots of Vietnamese dishes like beef pho, spicy noodle stirfry and fried rice....
