I have always wondered what lay at the end of the winding red dirt track just out of Margaret River and last weekend we found out. A birthday weekend away with hubby and friends in a wonderful location, the bush!|It was not an easy task finding a place that suited, being that it was school holidays...one thing we don't need to do anymore is travel in school hols and yet this was the time frame we had. |Linda and Lucy were lovely to meet, helpful, well just delightful to talk to really and communications before arrival was excellent. |There are six rammed earth chalets on the hill facing a lake and the event venue on the other side. What a perfect place for small weddings or family gatherings. There wasn't a lot of info on the chalets themselves so was VERY happy to find two spacious rooms with comfortable KS beds in each, separated by the lounge/dining area. No common walls.|But the most stunning feature by far was the enormous bathroom area with double showers that each room has. Supplied with shower products. Perfect for two couples.|The kitchen had everything you could possibly want so don't bother packing the plunger or the bottle opener :) It was a very simple, comfortable space and the rammed earth made me feel very at home. |The only very small downside for me, being a light sleeper was the noise of the split system which was outside our bedroom wall..hubby sleeps through cyclones so not a problem for him and nothing earplugs wouldn't sort. In the end the fluctuating noise of the unit trying to maintain the temperature was enough to warrant me turning it off. The heating was on for the benefit of our friends but I figured that the thermal mass of the rammed earth would hold the heat, which it did comfortably. ||Absolutely delightful having an early morning plunger coffee (thank you girls) looking out across the lawn to the lake and the bush beyond...oh and the boys played a round of golf, few balls under the lake sorry, which was followed by a delightful...

Read moreAbsolutely stellar place. We stayed for two nights in June and had an amazing time here.
The chalets are very well designed and built. Plenty of spaces. Well kitted kitchen. The bedroom has really good carpets. The bathrobe is absolutely comfortable, better than what I find in any five stars hotel. Whole house is air conditioned. They even provide blankets for the sofas.
Hot plate bbq is provided as well as small outdoor fire place with all the woods and fire starters. It was great to chill out there and even roast some marshmallows.
It is facing directly to the lake so its very private and has a great view. But you do have to be careful with little children and ensure they are supervised at all times.
The lake is really nice. They provided kayaks, standing paddleboard and even a small paddle boat to go on. We spent a few afternoons just paddling around the lake. There’s even a beach like space for kids to play with sands.
There is 9 hole golf courses, for which they provided the golf sticks and balls. There’s also lawn bowling.
The gym is not bad. I have attached some photos. Has enough to fit some exercises. The library next to it is pretty good too with some movies, toys and games for the young ones.
The trail around the property is pretty nice too. I really enjoyed my morning run.
Service was excellent and very friendly.
Location was great only 10 minutes drive to either Cowaramup or Margaret River. So easy to find foods.
All in all, I had one of the nicest stay here and would definitely be returning. Though they seem to book up fairly quick on...
