With all the rain we’ve been getting, wetland was definitely wet, with puddles of water both large and small on the side of the path. Now and then even the paths were somewhat muddy.
There were a few mosquitoes around but we found as long as we moved, they didn’t seem strong enough or energetic enough to chase us.
We met up with a few walkers, but by and large the area was very quiet. The children’s play area was empty. We did catch a few groups of people having a midday snack in one of the shelters.
While the walk was enjoyable felt a few more signposts would be an improvement. It seemed to us once you got to a place there was a sign telling you where you were. But at the beginning there was no sign to tell you which way to go to get to anywhere specific.
While we felt the bird lookout could do with a good spring-clean and perhaps even a coat of paint, we were compensated by seeing the birds sticking their long beaks into the water and coming up with something they seemed to enjoy.

Short walk (in land or on the river side) but really nice. Low tide at the time but will definitely come back when high tide. Highly recommend mozzie repellent!! Good spot for fishing...
