The reason they don't offer tastings/samples is because the chocolate is so disgusting nobody would buy it with informed knowledge. Prices are extortionate, even for a tourist trap. $4 for a single choc frog?? I pay $2 for one at Haighs and its to die for. I got a small pack of buttons for $4 which I am convinced is homebrand compound/cooking chocolate. Opened the bag in the carpark and wanted to gag after trying it. It is so gross I really dont know what to do with it now apart from bin it or gift it to somebody I don't like. I'm really sus about this place. I think all the chocolates are repackaged into some fancy 'Bruny Island' branded packaging. No evidence of it being a factory or anything about how its made. No toilets. Woman is rude as everybody says. Such a shame they ripp off bus tour groups who have a compulsory stop here. I dont feel like its supporting local producers at all. If you are on a bus trip - don't buy anything here.. if you are coming by car, dont make the stop.

🤮🤮I was genuinely shocked when I saw what I paid $22 for, TWO tiny pieces of chocolate stuffed into a tin box. That’s it. No premium packaging, no rare ingredients, no luxurious experience, just two small chocolates that wouldn’t even pass for a sampler elsewhere. I understand supporting local businesses and artisan goods, but this feels like daylight robbery. The price-to-value ratio is laughable, and honestly, insulting to customers. I expected at least a decent portion or something unique to justify the cost instead, it felt like a gimmick to trap tourists. Save your money and your taste buds. Skip this and look elsewhere on Bruny Island, plenty of places offer actual value with local charm. This was nothing but a bitter disappointment.

I was here over Easter and I just wanted to ask the woman working, are you ok? The amount of dirty looks and eye rolls this woman gave really baffled me. I literally just picked out chocolates and paid for them, it was really uncalled for behaviour. I thought maybe you were just having a bad day, but from the reviews I read it's clearly just the usual behaviour. To top it off, the overpriced chocolate tasted awful and super artificial. We loved every stop at Bruny Island, but will be telling all friends and family to avoid this place like the plague. You deserve the grumpiest woman in Tassie award.

Don’t let the negative reviews deter you. Having worked in a renowned chocolate shop in Queensland for three years, I can confidently say that I know good chocolate when I taste it. The only downside? You can’t buy it online.

The milk chocolate Turkish delight, milk chocolate strawberry crĆØme, and dark chocolate peppermint bar are simply divine. I gave my mum a packet of the coconut rough, and even she, a self-proclaimed chocoholic, said it’s some of the best she’s ever had.

The service was also great! The guy serving us generously gave us half a packet of dark licorice bullets because it didn’t quite fill a bag.

I’m more than happy to pay for quality chocolate. For those concerned about the price, it's worth noting that chocolate prices have soared recently.

If the owner reads this and is willing to organise delivery, I’d be thrilled to...

As tourists we are always up for pitching in for the little guy, and so we thought we would support this little boutique chocolate company and make a purchase, however, after spending our money we quickly realized that this small company does not support us back, because the chocolate itself was of such poor quality that it can only be summed up in a single word, "nasty." And this is not a matter of personal taste, this is a question of basic quality, there was none. This small chocolate company is clearly working on the basis that, its all about the "neat packaging," and who cares about the content right? And anyway, they're just tourists right? And there'll be another one along shortly right? Extremely poor effort Bruny Island Chocolate Company, please consider providing quality chocolate in the...
