Just came back from my third retreat here Prad Mana is one of the best teachers - he explains complex concepts in simple ways through many creative demonstrations and analogies. I really like the way he thinks deeply on how mindfulness, history, cultures, the economy, politics and human nature all interrelate. And it seems like he's constantly exploring and sharing. He cares most about helping us better our practise rather than any blind reverence of teachers, teachings or rules. And he's really funny! One of the best teachers and we're so lucky to have him here.

Kim is a kind powerhouse! She's the pillars of these beautiful loving house of knowledge and community. Everything seems to run so effortlessly because she organised so much behind the scenes. She also deals with all the tricky situations and I love learning from how she does it. She really is a second great teacher of the monastery.

The volunteers are amazing. They travel all this way to cook for us so we can focus on learning and practising. The food is so so so delicious and made with so much love. So grateful to be the recipient of their kindness, talent and hard work.

there's probably so many other people behind the scenes that we don't get to meet that makes this place possible. So grateful for their contributions so that we can spread more mindfulness and...

Here since 2003 during the construction of the pagoda with mates.

Lots of volunteers support from locals and Sydneysider . Weekend retreat highly recommended for learning meditation.

Sunnataram Forest Monastery follows the Theravada Buddhist tradition.

Retreat activities include Pali chanting, tai chi, Mindfulness. with breathing (Anapanasati), Loving-kindness (Metta) meditation and Vipassana meditation.

Very fortunate to always see all kind volunteers, organise Kik ,Phra Man and others monks each visit. Thank you for all the prepared accommodation, teaching ,bon fire, cooked vegetarians meals especially during retreat stay… very grateful about this place 😇🧘🦘🦜🦔🐇

This place relies entirely upon donation and volunteers and many preparations involved , booked ahead and be great full & respectful to the area.

Pet not recommended …as it will disturb Residential Kangaroo, wallabies ,wombat, birds etc. booked...

Recently did a weekend retreat here. I am in awe of the place and the program. The food, Mrs. Kim, Ven. Phra Mana, and all the volunteers have been amazing. If you are looking to deepen your practice, Sunnataram offers a great way to gain momentum. I am grateful for what has been shown to me here. The food for the retreat would make you say "Wow!" It is inspiring... all of us have been talking about the dishes.

This is by far one of the best things I did recently. It now holds a special place in my heart as I venture further in mindfulness and Buddhism. To experience this in a group is quite remarkable. The energies synchronize and it has made the retreat even more special.

Who knew that a 2-day retreat would be so impactful? I came here with an open mind and I have benefitted greatly. It is Buddhist teachings in practical...

Response to Kim - feel free to use any of my photos for your bushfire program. Sadhu, sadhu. ___ Peaceful, artistic and unlike many other forest monasteries I've been to. There is a unique and harmonious blend of the east and west here that will make you feel like you're blissfully walking in a garden of zen as opposed to the austerity that is normally associated with monasteries.
