We stayed for two nights. The unpowered are the way to go at $25/night as the powered sites are expensive when you basically only get power, as no sullage or drinkable water from from site taps. Drinking water is from rain water tank and only for filling bottles. Unpowered sites offer absolute beach frontage and are non pre bookable, being on a first in best dressed basis. Anenities are old but very clean and there is a bar, all be it very basic with music and food on a Friday night. Just a shame the bubbles ordered was flat with no offer of replacement or refund then on asking for a mineral water was given, and charged for, bottle water. We ended up cancelling the chips order and got a refund after waiting for 30 minutes and no chips. In saying all that, next time we are heading to Mackay or futher North or coming back we will be stopping for a couple of nights as we loved the views and serenity of it, even the occasional freight train passing only added to the atmosphere. There is also...

First of all.. staff were very pleasant, its an older style caravan park, and shower and toilet cubicles were kept clean, with plenty of room, the camping areas were great, plenty of trees for shade, with plenty of beach frontage, one made friends instantly, they also helped others to park theyre caravans, for a small fee naturally, (a stubbie, or tinnie) :).. theres also a bar depicting a 70s to 80s era, facing the beach, food was good, and reasonably priced, shore fishing l wouldnt recommend, too many rocks to get snagged on, theres crabs, and small oysters to be had there, with the ocassional turtle to be seen, just watch for the green, or weaver ants, as in certain areas, stand in one spot long enough, and you will be covered in them, and they bite too.. :) all in all, l enjoyed my 3 night...

We paid 65 dollars for our room which came with a bunk bed. A double on the bottom and a single on the top. The top bed wasn't made and was covered in bugs. But look, we got a cheap room so i can cop that. There was a young blond haired bloke behind reception / bar and he was actually the only one who seemed to have a personality. When we ordered dinner (which got dropped on our table by a lady ) we just got no customer service at all. We felt like we were an inconvenience being there because they were busy. Guys it's the school holidays you know it's going to be busy. Smiles are free and good customer service costs...

One of the more interesting looking landscapes we’ve stayed at on the coast. When the tide is low it’s a rocky paradise of wildlife And mangroves. There are lounge chairs and palm trees as well which makes it feel more exotic. There’s a bar and restaurant and a huge kids playing area. The park itself is well laid out although the toilets could be quite far if you’re staying on the other side of the park. There are a ton of horseflies who didn’t seem fussed about our bug spray so be wary- the bites hurt! Good value for money.
