Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre — Local services in Connellan

My husband and I paid for a personal experience with two of the earth sanctuary staff, Andrew Fitzgerald and Anna (?) on a perfect clear, crisp evening in Alice Springs. Andrew and Anna were very knowledgeable about astronomy and happy to share their knowledge in a simple, informative and entertaining way and we were able to view stars through their big telescope. Two hours flew by and my only complaint was the mosquitoes which of course couldn’t be helped, although Anna had repellant for us to use which helped. It was a great night! We were also lucky to see another presentation from one of the earth sanctuary partners at an off train experience while travelling on the Ghan. We had dinner under the stars on another perfect clear evening and during the evening, the partner (my apologies for not remembering his name) gave us a brilliantly funny, educational and informative guide to the stars over our heads. We organised to do the Astronomy tour as part of a friend's birthday celebration. 8 of us went together, taking the bus pickup option. The bus was easy and fun and let us socialise on the way out and back. The location is beautiful and there's the chance to grab a drink from the bar before the event begins and watch the glorious sunset. The tour itself was really well done. Starting with a general discussion of astronomy and pointing out the general features of the night sky and how to navigate by the stars. Then moving onto the telescopes for 3 different views of objects in the sky. The night we were there it was Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. It was interesting and fun and the team was great. Relaxed and happy to provide as much detail as people wanted. The flow was efficient and everyone had a great time. The Earth Sanctuary is a fantastic venue for corporate events and weddings, with an authentic Outback feel that is unique to Alice Springs. The Falzon family have built an incredible venue and go above and beyond to ensure their clients are well taken care of, whether it's a big or small event, their flexibility and friendliness is outstanding. A bus service to and from the venue and full catering is all available onsite so everything can be done in house. There are a range of informative and entertaining experiences available including star gazing talks, cooking classes and other great hands on activities that are perfect for corporate team building events.
