An amazing and absolute cracker of a location. The views are gorgeous not because you can see the beach and ocean but because of the surrounding or the place you are standing.
There is a car park from where you begin your journey walking towards the Carlo Sand Blow. The walk has slight gradual inclination with two sets of large (wide and deep) low height steps. So as long as one has average fitness can walk up to the view point. Kindly note there is no wheelchair or pram/stroller access on this path.
The path goes through a forest which has some really interesting trees.
Once on top of the viewpoint you have the option to stand there and admire this amazingly large sand dune or get ready to make the walk on this beautiful sand dune. This is where fitness kicks in.
Be mindful that walking on sand will be tiring especially coming back due to uphill walk. Carry water with you and a body board for sand boarding fun.
You can walk right up to the cliff to see the amazing rainbow beach extend all the way upto Double Island. Sunrise and Sunset are both beautiful from the Carlo Sand Blow.
Highly recommend a visit...
Read moreAbsolutely magical experience we went for sunset which I just would highly recommend I have never seen views like it. From where you park your car, you do have to walk up quite lot of stairs and not so flat surfaces as someone with mobility issues I did struggle at times only due to the length of time it takes. An Australian 5 minutes is more like 10 to 15 minutes. The stairs are not steep but as I have chronic nerve pain so walking can be difficult at times i did find all the uneven surfaces and walking up a hill difficult. The views were worth it though. On our return we had to walk in the dark luckily we all had phones so we used the torches so be mindful of that when you go to see the sunset. But if you go to Rainbow beach...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite spots in QLD. You can watch the sunset and sunrise from this same spot. It’s stunning. When I went to watch the sunrise, there had been a full moon the night before and still had a gorgeous view of the full moon along with the absolutely stunning sunrise. It’s one huge sand dune that I assume people would take their boogie boards and go sand boarding here, I personally didn’t, but the sand was marked as if that had been done before. If you’re in Rainbow Beach, this is an absolute MUST! If you put in Carlo Sandblow in your maps, it takes you to the closest parking spot for it and then it’s about a 10 minute walk to the sand. The walk is paved most of the way and flat, not strenuous at all. I did it...
