Great new clubhouse. Was in there yesterday waiting for the golfers to come off the course and ordered a coffee whilst I waited. The service has declined. My newspaper stuck to the table. The clubhouse wasn’t overly busy there was a table of 6 and another table of 4 and there were a few tables that had dirty plates and were left uncleaned for over 20mins. After 15-20mins I had to go back up to the bar to ask them where my coffee was as they had forgotten to make it. The till still had my receipt of payment hanging off the till and the lady apologised and made it straight away. When the golfers came in we moved to a bigger table, two people had the inside golf magazine open and they both stuck to the table. Also a bit disappointed to hear from a few members of the lack of empathy shown by the management for members who have been long time members of the club and were suffering serious illness but, were unable to pause their membership. Understand the club has a waiting list for new members but, it wouldn’t cost them anything to pause these members memberships and bring a new member on at the same time. What happened to the great club that cared about their members?
Great to see that the sticky tables have been rectified from the review above 6mths ago. Perhaps bring in a Happy Hour in the Spike Bar between 4-5pm on a Wed or Sat, provide a better dining menu in the Spike Bar for dinner as Members don’t really want to pay $40-50 for a Steak or Rabbit in the Restaurant every week and want more than $9.50 for a bowl of chips for dinner. Move the TV screens so people can watch them properly without the sun in their eyes. A screen of tvs on a wall would be great for sports viewing. Also would be great if you could see the golf course view whilst sitting in the clubhouse. Bring back the Friday 9 hole Chook Run. Subtle changes could bring back the golfing clubhouse feel and maybe some of the car park members would start coming into the clubhouse instead of going home straight after they have finished golf. And the rough doesn’t need to be that rough, it’s causing slow play it shouldn’t take 4.5hrs to play a round of golf. It could also become an OH&S issue if golfers are looking for golf balls in the long grass and get bitten by a snake. Yes we should all try and stay on the fairway but, we’re not all single figure handicap golfers and want to enjoy a round of golf. You also would not be happy as a visitor to pay $50 for cart hire when the carts never have any water in the ball/club washer, the esky’s in the cart are grotty and not cleaned and sometimes the carts have not been cleaned properly and still have food wrappers and rubbish...
Read moreJust returned from a wonderful 2-night stay at Curlewis Golf Club for a belated 50th birthday celebration, and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed.
We spent some time at the Ivor Spike Bar and it was a real highlight — superb drinks and a great atmosphere. Whether it was a late afternoon refreshment or a relaxed evening snack, everything hit the spot perfectly. The snacks were just what we needed — delicious, satisfying, and beautifully presented without being over the top. The roaring fireplace in winter was an added bonus.
The whole setting was peaceful and beautifully maintained, making it the perfect little getaway. Whether you're a golf lover or just looking for a stylish and relaxing escape, Curlewis delivers.
Oh and the robes were super snuggly, making the morning coffee on the balcony with Bay Views over the top of the green, made for a perfect lazy start to a weekend morning.
We'll definitely be back!
PS - The birthday chocolate treats left in the room were appreciated and a...
Read moreCurlewis Golf Course,
This golf course did not disappoint.
The facilities were fantastic and very modern. Loved the atmosphere of the dining and bar area, very cosy with the wood fire on a cold and wet day like today.
The service was good and friendly staff in the proshop.
The golf course was a tough test of your golfing metal. The fairways were mint, the greens were receptive and played medium speed. Don't be fooled by the wide fairways. The wind and slopes will make where you land your shot so important. For a Par 71 course with slope ratings of 130 from black tee's. I would love to go back again, now that i know the course and where hazards are.
It's a beautiful golf course and I highly recommend a visit when down that way and play a game, you will be very surprised at how much fun you will have. The vies aren't bad either. Also bring good company and your day...
