Nice little return walk from Trig Campground. Would probably recommend this more in the warmer months as in late May it was quite muddy and some of the rocks were a little slippery. The cove felt quite isolated and wild despite not being that far from the campground. I’d like to return and do the loop in summer.

A tough trek on the way back (it is downhill there) but you are certainly rewarded with amazing views on the approach but also once you get down there, and time it when it isnt busy and you can have the place entirely to yourself for some relaxing in pure nature...!

Hike there from Trig camp ground is good but pretty steep and rocky, you can only get to one part of the cove from there so if you want the full experience you have to do the hike from Tapanappa camground. Overall though this is a great hike with spectacular views.

Great little 11km loop that’ll test you, especially in and out of the cove with a nice beach and waterfall and great for native plant inspo. Aeroguard and sunscreen up. Lots of small spiders between the waterfall and Tapa lookout that you’ll enjoy hitting your face. Not as much wildlife as I hoped for but great from a hike perspective. I did this clockwise which on hiking pages seems to be the best...
