Not so well known place. Although not too far from Melbourne and may be a good place if you like hiking. There are 3 different tracks which you can choose based on how much you can do. There is an information centre where you can find toilet and sitting area to rest. And the view is great when you reach at top . Nice fields all over and we were able to see a kangaroo on the way.

Don’t worry if you arrive out of of the Sunday visitor hours times. Simply park your car walk through the gate on the left-hand side of the entry and walk the 850 m to the visitor centre; pass through the gates and go up the Borbidge track for 15mins at 9% gradient & enjoy the beautiful view of the volcano

The walk had breathtaking 360 degree views with a wide range of scenery to take in. It was wonderful to be greeted with such a pleasant welcoming from the information guide. Definitely a steep walk, will get you sweating. Would recommend bringing water and good footwear.

I walked in and it was so confusing I didn't know where to go. I asked a service lady where the elephants were but she just looked me in the eyes and growled at me. As I was walking away I heard her bark at me and I ran. I ran for the hills and ended up actually making my way to the volcano. It was so dissapointing. There was no lava or elephants. It's all fake it's just a mountain. I complained to the service lady but she growled again and attacked me. As I lyed on the floor on the verge of death the lady ran away on all fours and stole my car and drove off. I rolled over and accidently rolled in the volcano and couldn't get out. I am currently stuck in the centre of the mountain please help it's cold and I can't...

Saw this mountain from a distance on a road trip and had to investigate. Happened across a small group of volunteers who were so lovely and informative. They were part of the group Trust for Nature who purchased the property in 2020, to revegetate. The volcano first erupted around 180,000 Years ago. Several walks you can do requiring a moderate fitness level. There are toilets and picnic table. An information centre. It is open Sundays 1-4 or by...

Who in their right mind opens this volcano for 3 HOURS PER WEEK?????

Until they learn to treat it like a national park and have it open 24/7 skip the hassle of turning up to find it closed.

Much better options for volcanos which are much similar if not better as they are always open.... (Mt Laura, Mt Shanck)

Yes it looks good, but the fence they close is on the main road! You can't even drive up to it let alone walk around it...
