As a wedding photographer, I love outdoor locations for elopements, especially when they’re as beautiful as Bendora Arboretum. One of my eloping clients got married there, and it was such a stunning experience. They hit the trails and reached a spot with breathtaking 360-degree views. Surrounded by nature and starting their marriage in a place they love, the couple was absolutely thrilled with the experience. The walk was easy and filled with plenty to see, making it perfect for nature lovers. I highly recommend this elopement venue if you’re looking for an intimate location you can truly enjoy.

Had a spontaneous solo trip and stumbled across this hidden gem! The walk through Bendora Arboretum was peaceful and refreshing, surrounded by a variety of pine trees that made the place feel almost magical. The highlight? A curious little wallaby that ended up following me the entire time I was there — such a surreal and memorable moment. A perfect spot if you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful escape into nature. Highly recommend for nature lovers or anyone in need of a peaceful walk!

The only arboretum to survive the 2003 bushfires. Planted 50 years ago. Some impressive trees, and still popular with walkers. Not far from Canberra, on ok dirt roads. Plenty of informative signage, a high country hut picnic tables. It is an easy walk in from the locked gate. Close enough to Bulls Head picnic ground if you need amenities (toilets, bbqs).

Administration is free,(if not camping) last 20km is a unsealed dirt road. Not many road signs and poor to no mobile reception best to have directions written out before hand. No toilets at arboretum but are some about 10km before it at bulls head. There is 1.8km walk to Arboretum, you will get to see old European and American trees inside a national park. Would recommend if...
