For the office staff only, since I didn't get to go on my intended tour. I was unable to book for a solo traveler for the wine tour on Viator and reached out to the company directly for assistance. They told me no one had booked yet, and I needed to wait until at least two other people did, as they would not open it up for one traveler. The other option was to book a private tour or pay for two seats (which should have been a red flag to how this company operates). And so I waited. I checked Viator and their site daily, and nothing changed. Still unable to book a single seat the day before the intended tour, I contacted them again to confirm the tour wasn't happening and inquire about private tours, as per our prior discussion. They wrote back and said in a curt and unapologetic manner that the tour was fully booked and they did not have any additional staff to conduct a private tour that day. Naturally upset and surprised by this turn, I reminded them I had been waiting for the tour to open up so I could book a single seat and questioned why they didn't contact me once the tour was selling. Additionally, I had just checked their site and Viator. Neither reflected the sold out status they claimed, and both still had available seats for 2. Something wasn't adding up, so I asked for a direct contact number for someone to talk to in hopes of resolving the matter and getting on the tour. Unfortunately, the line of communication went dead. They stopped responding to my e-mails, and they didn't pick up the phone when I tried to call.
Not cool. Unprofessional....
Read moreAmazing tour of the sites of Canberra.Really gave us an insight of the origins of Canberra and Canberra today. We were very fortunate to be Neil’s only clients and he was not only very informative but passionate about the knowledge of the history of Canberra and knew a great deal about the history and current affairs of Canberra. Seeing the old and new Parliament House was such Buzz.We learnt so much about most of the Prime Ministers character and weird preferences. The Great hall was amazing especially the portraits of the past Prime Ministers. In the old Parliament House now a museum life stood still. Amazingly displayed the working rooms for the Parliament staff, PM’s office and other rooms. Everything was well preserved as though time stood still. The drive to Mount Ainslie with stunning vies of the whole of Canberra was breathtaking. As well as the Army training grounds of Duntroon. Australian War Memorial and so many other sites.
Overall a fantastic day out. Thanks Neil for the tour.A must when...
Read more“A Deeply Disappointing Experience”
As the primary carer for a 37 year old man with autism, I feel compelled to share a distressing experience he endured during tour around Canberra, at the beginning of October.
The incident occurred toward the end of a tour of Canberra and its surrounding areas. While on the bus, the tour passed a group of young girls, around 12 or 13 years old, filming themselves dancing on the street. In full hearing of all passengers, the tour operator made an offensive and inappropriate remark, suggesting that the man with autism approach the girls to ask for their phone numbers.
This comment was humiliating for this poor man, causing him visible distress, and likely made other passengers uncomfortable as well. Unfortunately, the tour operator offered no clarification or apology, leaving everyone in an awkward and unsettling atmosphere for the remainder of the tour. The poor man with autism continues to ruminate over the incident, which has caused him significant...
