I am writing to convey my extreme disappointment and receive a refund for a recent flight my partner and I took with Fly Broome on Sunday 25th Oct.
On initial arrival in Broome we did not think we would be able to fit a flight in so when you were able to accommodate us at short notice we were so excited and the anticipation was making us feel it was meant to be. This all went down hill from the tarmac before take off.
I understand that we had a “last minute” booking but If it was explained to me that we wouldn’t be sitting together I would never have booked. I have been on tours before (ones much less expensive than this) and have received a courtesy call that sitting together may not be an option. This was never even mentioned as a possibility. Unfortunately this is the worst customer service experience and oversight from a company who claims “WE ARE DEDICATED TO MAKING SURE YOUR AIR ADVENTURE IS PERFECT” I have ever been privy to. The promise you made was nowhere near met.
I spent 450km of a flight in tears at the back of a plane sitting by myself in the most furthest seat possible from my partner. From this position I had the luxury of watching the two couples in front of me take pictures with each other and point things out to each other and SHARE an unforgettable experience.
To add to the painful experience that this was I was also forced (I took off my headset so I wouldn’t have to listen and was told to put it back on) to listen to the pilot ask multiple questions and interesting facts from my partner of his history in the area. An experience my partner and I should share not the pilot and my partner. The conversation itself was uncomfortable for my partner with him knowing that this interaction and moment should have been one for us.
It’s worth noting we did get to sit together on the high flight home only due to my partner requesting from the pilot that we do. However, as you know the high flight back in is no different than flying a commercial plane into Broome so a bitter sweet moment in itself.
Since then we have come home and gone back to work and seen friends and family. When normally flying over horizontal falls should be the best thing to brag about, and something on many peoples bucket list, I can’t even bring myself to tell people that I took the flight and if my partner does mention it its with regret. Regret that he did not say anything at the time before take off and regret he had no option but be in conversation with the pilot.
The least of the disappointments of the day was the fact the falls weren’t even falling. Not only did this experience not leave a beautiful memory it did the exact opposite and has created a...
Read moreWe were collected by Andrew at our hotel and met our fellow travelers en route to the airstrip. Eugene , our pilot, gave us a safety instruction and flight details and answered any questions before we boarded the plane which was a 6 seater Cessna - very cosy I am 9 weeks post op knee replacement so mobility is not as normal and Eugene was very good at making sure I was ok. Once in the air the views were spectacular and the commentary from Eugene was very informative and friendly. He showed us many things we would have missed without his knowledge and insight. We all were encouraged to ask and discuss some of the many things which came up and it made for a very interesting journey. Once at the Horizontal falls Eugene ensured that both sides if the plane had a fabulous view and flew over several times before heading off to Cape Leveque. The breakfast and swimming at Cape Leveque were a great opportunity to get to know the group better, and the scenery at the beach was amazing. I have never seen such diverse scenery as we did coming back from Cape Leveque along with another great commentary from Eugene. All day was just customer focused and made us feel like we were special. The whole process from booking to flying was a very professional one and I would definitely use Fly Broome again and encourage...
Read moreWe flew with Monica in a little Cessna over the horizontal falls 7/8, landed in Cygnet bay for lunch and returned taking in the sunset along the coast back to Broome. Monica was fantastic, going the extra mile to ensure we all had a great view and taking time to fly low and several times over the falls. The lunch at Cygnet bay was very good, my barramundi filet was chunky, perfectly cooked with a crispy skin. Otherwise the tour of the pearl operations was informative. Good to know: ask for Monica as the pilot, sit in the back 2 seats of the plane, as these have the best view. Don't be tempted to sit next to the pilot thinking you'll have a good view, you won't, you'll have a great view of the instrument panel and the pilot, with a view out the side window. It may be cramped in the plane and you will need to be able bodied to get in and out of the plane if you haven't made prior arrangements. There's an option to swim in the pool at Cygnet bay and while we took bathers we didn't use them as there's not a lot of time to properly swim in the pool, suggest wearing your bathers and changing out of them if you intend to swim. Chilled water is provided so no need to bring your own. Bring a hat...
