I drove hours to visit this place purely to try my luck finding a numbat but had no luck despite the caretakers efforts to help me find the elusive little creatures. I planned to stay overnight but had to leave.
With dogged determination, I returned a couple of days later and gave myself two hours to get my numbat, and just when my time was almost up, success!! I was very happy to see this adorable little animal fossicking in its natural habitat.

This remnant woodlands is a reminder of what has been lost to Agricultural practices back in the day, and should be a trip everyone should take at least once to remind them of why natural places like this are precious to all humanity. Read moreAwesome natural wilderness area! The walks are well-described even down to the wildlife you see on each hike. Signage is great and it looks like they are upgrading everything to easy-to-see bright orange trail markers. Definitely try and do the "Discovery Drive" around 10 am - noon because that is peak numbat activity time. We saw one! Too quick for a photo 😉 Also the night walk is well worth it if you have a decent torch! No freshwater or places nearby for food so plan ahead and bring...
