Visiting the war memorial dedicated to Avro Anson A4-4 that claimed 4 young lives on the 16th May 1940 is a very moving experience! A clearly sign posted walking track that is maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers will ensure you have a safe hike into the site. Camping is available at the bottom before you start the hike, but vehicle access isn’t possible over the winter...

***Tree down 2.8km from Barnewall Plains blocking road!!!*** Surprisingly high, this peak has amazing views. The main summit walk isn't too far but scrambling and a few steep spots make it unsuitable for a casual stroll up. Beware brambles! The walk to the old plane crash site, passed on the drive up, is easier and still great.
