Bitter Springs is a thermal pool. The location is still pretty much in its natural state with the exclusion of a concrete path suitable for wheel chair access. Steps have also been added to aid getting in and out of the pool in three places. The ‘pool’ is actually a flowing stream that will take you through an amazing canopy of trees as you float past lilies in flower in pristine clear warm water. The water is safe from crocodiles. With the aid of goggles you can see the bottom of the pool and the wonderful plants growing down there. This pool seems to be quite a bit more quiet and calm than the Mataranka Thermal Pools; it was less crowded. Lots of people brought their pool noodles and placed their thongs(sandals) on the end of their pool noodle as when you flow down to the bottom of the pool and need to get out and walk to the start as the current takes you to a place you can't swim further. No worries though, you can swim up current or float at the end...

A relaxing drift down stream, gently pushed by the tide. The water is warm like a bath tub, clear and aqua blue.
Bring a pool noodle if you wish but super easy to naturally float and shallow enough in some spots to touch the white, sandy bottom with your feet.
Bring a camera in a waterproof pouch for that Insta-perfect image.
