I went all the way from south to this shop just to get some good Burmese food. And it was beyond my expectations!
The curries and selections of Burmese noodles and desserts were made fresh when I visited this place last week. There is a mini coffee shop inside, where the fresh food are made daily and right upon order.
There are wide range of ready cooked curries and plain Dan Bauk rice (Burmese Biryani, which amazingly tasty from this place). My personal recommendations are Chin Baung Kyaw (stir fried sour roselle leaves with bamboo shoots), Duck Curry and the pork curry (wet thar hin). Their cooking style is like those in Mandalay area. Very typical and complex in flavour.
Their Shan dishes like Shan Khau Swe (noodle dish), tofu thoke (Burmese tofu salad) are definitely spot on.
Burmese desserts there are also made fresh. I had a good chance to get their Mont Let Saung (Burmese "chendol" or Noum Lot in Khmer).
The owner of this shop, Mr. Ashley is also a very warm friendly and helpful person. I got a chance to meet some local Burmese Buddhist society too because of this gentlemen's help. All the very best and bright future for...
Read moreThe owner lady is very rude and disrespectful, I bought steamed rice and asked her if she could heat it up for me. She looked unhappy, she then rudely asked how do I heat my food at home? Do I have microwave at home or not, and told me to get one as it’s only $200 for a microwave. I explained to her that I don’t have microwave and if it’s too much of a hassle, I’ll ask shop next door to heat it up for me since I’m also waiting for my food to be ready in there. She have few customers dining in at her shop, I was wondering if she does or does not heat the food up before she serve that to customers, as all the food the customers eat is stored in the display fridge. Please have your manners back in, its not good for your business.
I have no problem with the other owner (her son) who’s polite. I bought food many times in this shop and the son always offer if I want my food heated up.
I definitely won’t be coming back here, will take...
