GS Grocery Store — Local services in Glenvale

I was in Toowoomba today to buy some Asian and Filipino food.

I went to the GS Asian Grocery Store, Glenvale, Toowoomba, but found that most items were not priced. I asked the person at the counter how much one item was, and she had to make a phone call to find out. She explained that the product had only arrived yesterday, as their reason for it not being priced.

But well over half the stock on the shelves were not priced. I wonder how accurate her answer was.

One of the fridges had a load of Swiss Rolls, also unpriced, but with an expired use by date. If I knew the price I might have bought a couple. How many could they have sold before expiry, if they had been priced?

In the end, I couldn't be bothered asking the prices of all the things I wanted, and then waiting for them to ring up for prices.

Fortunately there are other Asian stores in Toowoomba, so I went to one of the others to spend my money. I did buy the one item that she found the price for, but the majority of my spending went to a competitor, where...

All sort of food brands from south Asian and Latin American countries. It is really nice to see the brands from home country. Shop is organised, well packed and well maintained. Team members are really helpful and willing to show you options. Convenient location and enough parking slots. Dirty, poor range... Trying to fit too many nationalities of food under 1 small roof means that it is near impossible to get what you want. There was almost more Aussie food than Asian food at this Asian grocery store. Would recommend to this business that they concentrate on 1 or 2 nationalities of groceries or move to bigger premises to carry a better range of all...
