The management of brown lake has recently been taken over from the Redlands council by the National parks and wildlife service who are upgrading facilities The lake is a beautiful perched lake fed by freshwater The First Nations people called it Bumeira The brown colour is the result of melaleuca trees leaching their oils into the water. Some might find the appearance a little off putting initially but once you take the plunge you will be grateful It’s good for all ages but little ones will be in their element Good for canoes and floatable devices like Lilos. Nice and kid-friendly lake close to Brisbane. The lake has a reasonably big car park with fairly maintained amenities. During summer and school holidays the lake can get crowded, but it is still toma of fun. The lake is an excellent place to have a swim, paddle-board, kayak and more. At night it’s an excellent places to watch stars and you can occasionally see some wild animals such as...
