Hinton Bay Vineyard, Tamar Valley We had a wonderful experience at Hinton Bay Vineyard, wrapping up our Tamar Valley Wine Tour with a visit that felt like the perfect finale to an unforgettable day. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, guiding us through a curated tasting of some of the finest wines we tried in the region—all while taking in the breathtaking views from their stunning estate overlooking the valley. What made the visit truly memorable were the stories—hearing firsthand about the journey of taking over the vineyard, nurturing their first harvest, and eventually bottling their own wine added so much heart and depth to the experience. A visit to Hinton Bay is more than just a wine tasting—it’s a glimpse into a passionate, personal story set against one of the most beautiful backdrops in Tasmania. Highly recommended.

Even as someone who doesn’t know much about wine, I can confidently say that Hinton Bay Vineyard is an absolute highlight of the Tamar Valley. If you’re unsure where to go or building your own itinerary, pencil this place in immediately—you won’t regret it. The wines are exceptional (even to an untrained palate like mine!), but what truly sets Hinton Bay apart are the owners, Liz and David. Their warmth, passion, and hospitality turn a simple wine tasting into a genuinely memorable experience. You feel like a welcomed guest, not just a visitor. The setting is stunning, the vibe is relaxed, and you leave feeling a little more connected to the beauty of the region—and maybe even a little more into wine. A must-visit in every sense!

My wife visited this beautiful vineyard last year and the owners David and Liz were very hospitable welcoming us into their Lovely home. Their wines are both delicious and affordable. Their service didn't stop after we left, my wife continue to buy their wine ro this day and David has personally ensured our transaction is completed by informing us every time when it has been shipped. We will continue to support David and Liz in the distant future. A price can't be put in their dedication to customer service. Thank you

Our stay at Jane and Tony Bissett’s Hinton Bay Retreat and participation in Jane’s Cooking Class were perfectly sublime experiences. The Retreat is spacious, well-appointed and comfortable; and if you visit when there’s a chill in the air, the slow combustion fireplace will warm you cosily. The Retreat sits prettily on a hill overlooking the widest part of the Tamar, affording stunning views in every direction. Nighttime silence allows a restful night’s sleep and morning birdsong gently awakens. Everyone deserves this treat. But that’s not all: with Jane’s confident culinary skills and expert tutelage we became master chefs for a day; feasted like kings for our efforts and Tony’s superlative Chardonnay and Pinot paired perfectly with our dishes. Do yourself, your partner and/or friends a favour: put a Hinton Bay experience on your Bucket...
