Nice place which gives an insight about what has made Inverell the place it is today, mining and farming. I really enjoyed the photography exhibit; cameras, film projectors, dark room equipment, photographs, etc. Sadly, as with many of these historic villages the displays have withered and become dated. The interactive features have stopped working or have been turned off. This village is still worth a visit, if you enjoy a self paced walkthrough and being your own guide.

Geoff and Denise are terrific caretakers and Geoff has heaps of stories about Inverell and its history. We spent 3.5 hours exploring the village which is a lot bigger and had way more exhibits than expected. You really get a strong feel for the history of the district and how people lived in the pioneering days... thoroughly enjoyed it even sitting by the small lake having lunch and watching the ducks and kingfishers.

What a wonderful gem of a place. As a photographer I was given countless wonderful opportunities here. This would also make a great location for a portrait or wedding photo shoot. So many photo opportunities. Most of the buildings are fully furnished and have interesting shops too. Pro Tip - If you are bringing your camera a tripod or monopod would be an asset for indoor shots.

Great place to wander around and check out a bit of local history. These are rescued building which is pretty cool and they are in bloody good nic too. It was a bloody hot day and the buildings are spaced apart and some were very very warm inside. Bring drinks with on those hot days. Plenty of opportunities to sit down and chill too which is great. The cinema and photography building is just awesome with lots of pics from the past. Easy parking with a little kiosk and pretty good...
