We loved staying at the Boomerangs for three nights, mixing walking the GOW with very special surroundings. The cabin was perfect - lots of space, privacy, great amenities (we were grateful for the washing machine after getting quite dusty on the walk, and I loved soaking in the spa bathtub). We turned into avid bird watchers on this trip, and particularly loved our neighbourhood family of nine yellow-tailed black cockatoos (Mark's gardening seems to have played a role in attracting them as seeing such large flocks is apparently quite unusual). If the sofas had been pull-outs, we would have gladly slept in the large open living room, which was perfect for star gazing after dark. At night, we could hear the ocean (beach is 5km away). The cabins are self-catering but very well equipped, so we were glad to have brought ample supplies from Apollo Bay for our dinners and large breakfasts.||Special thanks to Roz and Mark, who were very helpful - from providing maps, fly nets and advice to helping with the wifi, picking up much needed supplies and spider removal from our car!!! Be aware that wifi is limited. This is not the fault of Mark and Roz, who did what they could to help us get connected.||We walked the GOW in stages and basing ourselves at the Boomerangs turned out to be a great half-way option. One of the days, Roz very kindly dropped us at Cape Otway and we walked back to Johanna Beach (where we had parked our car); the second day, we worked with a local taxi shuttle so we could walk from Wreck's Beach back to Johanna. It worked out perfectly.||Thanks for a truly special stay - we would highly recommend the Boomerangs for any stay...

Read moreWe wanted to escape the confines of our home after so many months at home and this was the perfect little two night getaway. The property is set amongst the most magical location overlooking the countryside. There is so much to see and do in this area and then to come back to our little cottage at Boomerangs made the stay. The weather wasn't perfect summer weather but with an open fire and 180 degree views we had it all. The owners have their own house on the property, however we only saw them in once when heading out, so it felt very private. Their beautiful Border Collier Blue was a delight as our special host. Full of birds, sunrises and mist over the mountains....stay here and you won't be disappointed. We ate in Lavers Hill and Apollo Bay, visited the beach, Otway Fly, Melba Gully, Falls, Lighthouse. So much to do in one weekend. Thank...
