Where do I start? We stayed in a pet friendly cabin because we were travelling across multiple states to pick up our dog, so I am no stranger to a bit of pet hair/pet odours, BUT, the smell of this cabin was unbearable, before even entering the cabin the cat urine smell was very strong, the kids bunk beds smelt so strong that there was either cat urine in the mattresses or directly under them that had not been cleaned. If it wasn’t so late and we weren’t all completely exhausted there is no way I would have stayed there, the only reason my kids fell asleep in that stench is because they were so exhausted. All around the toilet was very discoloured on the ground, I wiped near it with a makeup wipe and it was brown after 1 wipe. The microwave had food splattered inside. No TV remote The park was also disappointing, no carts for the kids to ride around in (which is fine, but it is advertised) The jumping pillow was already partly deflated when we got there so it was hard to bounce, and continued to go down. We didn’t bother with the pool, the pool cleaner machine was still in it, and it all looked very poorly upkept. The kids enjoyed the games room but it was also quite average. Majority of the park it seems are permanent residents with signs for guests not to enter those streets so there wouldn’t be much area for kids to ride around anyway. I would not stay here ever again. I would get a refund if I could, and if I wasn’t with my children or pets I would have left at 10pm. The only reason this park gets any kind of positive rating is because the receptionist was so warm and welcoming and friendly. There was also a dog roaming around a lot from another guest (I do understand dogs can be sneaky and wander away) But this happened on numerous occasions, even trying to approach our cabin because our kids were eating at the outside table. I’m sure it was a friendly dog, but after seeing one of your children attacked by a dog I do not take any chances with animals I...
Read moreI'm a bit late to write this, and I don't often leave reviews, but I felt that I must in this case. Big 4 Shepparton is a lovely park, with warm, welcoming and caring staff. I don't remember the caretaker's name, but she is a friendly and bubbly lady, originally from NZ. I found her to be the nicest caretaker I've come across on our travels. I arrived with our van after-hours following a long dive, with two children, one only an infant. We opened the envelope to find we were given a surprise upgrade to an ensuite site for our two night stay. It was an overwhelming gesture of kindness and although tired from the trip, we all had a big smile on our faces. It was Mother's Day weekend, and it made my day even more special. I came across this wonderful lady the next day, who said "I thought it might make it a bit easier for you with the kids". She was so tentative and kind toward myself and my children and made our stay a comfortable one.
The park is in a great location, the amenities are nice and clean, there is a fun tyre maze which entertained both myself and the kids for hours, a big jumping pillow, pedal bikes, and safe roads within the park to enjoy riding them.
Most of all, it's the thoughtful and kind nature of the caretaker which inspired this 5 star review. In a world where there is a lot of negativity, there are people you come across who help you see the good in the world. Thanks for making my Mother's Day memorable, for engaging the kids the way you did, and for the friendly service you provide at Big 4 Shepparton. If ever we are heading your way again, we will be sure to...
Read moreOur 2-night stay at BIG4 Shepparton Park was a complete disappointment. We came with our kids hoping for a relaxing break, but it turned out to be one of the most uncomfortable holidays ever.
We stayed in Cabin No. 06, and it was in terrible condition. The queen bed was completely unstable, shaking and moving with every turn, and the mattress was badly sunken in the middle. It was impossible to sleep properly, and we ended up with back pain instead of rest.
When I mentioned this to the receptionist, she wasn’t rude but simply said no one had complained about it before — which honestly makes me wonder if anyone from management even checks these cabins. Later, the housekeeping lady told me she had already reported this issue long ago, but nothing has been fixed. That clearly shows management just doesn’t care.
The floor was dirty, and overall, the cabin felt poorly cleaned and badly maintained. For what they charge, the condition of this place is unacceptable.
It’s disappointing to see that BIG4 Shepparton Park seems more interested in collecting money than providing a proper holiday experience. We went there to relax and left with sore backs and frustration. Definitely not recommended until they fix their maintenance and...
