This kennel and cattery is a relatively new addition to the Cottage Cattery family. We have used it for both our cat and dog. Unlike another kennel, our dog is happy to return (& our cat is a cat, so who knows - we're just his servants!). It appears to be well run and is very clean. The play pool for the dogs is large and looks lovely. Cats have access to a cat run (pictured), so they can pop outside for a change of view if they so desire. The staff is friendly and we have been provided with an update of how our fur babies went each time we've used the service. Overall, we are pleased with the service they offer. My only gripe is that our dog (a medium sized terrier) is required to be housed alone. She is a friendly dog and we would love her to get to spend time with another dog of a similar temperament, size and energy level. Unfortunately, there is a policy that her breed must not be with another dog: this seems to be a blanket policy, based on breed rather than temperament. I'm not sure from which evidence (i.e., anecdotal or research based) the policy is formed. Hopefully some flexibility can come into play...

Wow, did the team at Rothwell Run, from the reception staff to the staff who cared for Ellie, our pup during her stay go above and beyond! Our little girl went on a hunger strike and the team did everything plus more to get her to eat and she did!!! Our daily phone calls were answered with smiles and genuine updates, and it was great to see the daily photos! Ellie left happy giving one of her carers lots of love as we picked her up! A massive THANK YOU to the entire team at Rothwell Run, you are amazing and we appreciate your efforts more then you know not only for the love and care you gave Ellie but for the support you gave us leaving her for the first time and during her entire stay! Read moreBEWARE: After a 2 night stay, picked our 2 dogs up to notice one was limping and holding up his back paw. Went in and told them and they said they hadn't noticed it and was probably due to fence running. I had to then take him to the vets as his paws were all raw and ripped and wasnt putting any weight on that back paw. After being told they were great to look after it really makes you question were they looked after at all cause clearly you werent checking in on them enough to notice. A disappointing experience of which wasnt the cheapest plus a vet bill on top which they said they wouldn't help pay as the paws are something that happens regularly but if its was an injury that happened due to their fault then they would help. They said to keep them updated on our dog of which why would we when you werent doing anything to help anyway. Definitely wont be going back...
