Plenty of free camp spots. Wandering cows, birdlife, clear water for SuP, swimming, fishing. The gravel can be quite loose on entering the gorge from the left fork of the road. Suggest to take the right fork and turn left once on the foreshore then pick your way up the gorge. The further left you go the smaller and looser the gravel is so be mindful of getting bogged if you...

I had a really awesome day here in 1994ish and have never forgotten it. I was working at a Manganese mine called Woodie Woodie and we had a day off. 3 or 4 of us lads took a couple of tyre tubes, fishing rods and beers and spent a day swimming, fishing and sitting in tubes drinking beer. Plenty of free camp spots. Wandering cows, birdlife, clear water for SuP, swimming, fishing. The gravel can be quite loose on entering the gorge from the left fork of the road. Suggest to take the right fork and turn left once on the foreshore then pick your way up the gorge. Just wow. Not going to say too much, as it will only attract more tourists, to this beautiful place. Need to be a little careful on the way in with a couple of wash outs and also careful on the rocks, as we did see a number of people get bogged.
